Dak Furious

At some point the defense has to be able to stop someone. If you go for it and miss it does that keep them from extending their lead?
Considering the offense hadn't done anything to that point why would anyone think that they'd make it there?

I agree....just because it coulda/woulda/shoulda been caught....doesn't make it a good decision to throw it.

I STILL think Dak can get "locked in". Not sure if he's a bit overconfident in his throws, or he doesn't wanna do something else with it.
How about he's bad at some fundamentals?

It was not sound at all.

Pretty sure the score was 17-6 and this took place before the half. It did not cut the lead at all because we ended up trading FG's before the half.

The offense should have remained on the field at a minimum to run down the clock. Maybe we could have drawn them off side and had time still had timeouts to stop the clock.

Dak wanted to go for it and he was correct after watching our D get torched all game.
It was exactly the right decision. There is no crystal ball for coaches to look through.

Dak should play better if he wants touchdowns instead of field goals.

There you go, your true colors, you think it’s a one-man game. Only when it comes to Prescott LMAO.
What had he done to that point that makes you think Dak would have pulled it off?

An irate Dak Prescott was seen screaming at his sideline during a consequential first-half drive during the Dallas Cowboys' defeat to the Detroit Lions on Thursday Night Football.

Dallas was trailing 17-6 late in the second quarter when Prescott led the Cowboys down the field on a strong drive.

But multiple penalties backed Dallas up to a 2nd & 25 on their own 42. Prescott hit target CeeDee Lamb for a ten-yard gain, following that up on 3rd & 15 with an 11-yard strike to tight end Jake Ferguson.

It left the Cowboys with a tough choice on 4th & 4 from the Detroit 37 yard line. Rather than go for the first down to extend the drive, coach Brian Schottenheimer chose to take the easy points instead.

Prescott was furious, seen blowing up at his sideline in a rage to go for the kick rather than try and keep their momentum going.

Kicker Brandon Aubrey was able to easily knock the kick through, but Schottenheimer's choice left the Lions with plenty of time to extend their lead.

Dak would have just fumbled or thrown a pick.

The issue isn’t the kick but try to act like they should go for 4th so Detroit won’t call a timeout and then call a timeout when play clock at zero, so Detroit has way less time to work with.

Shotty showed his decision too early which gave Campbell the opportunity to call timeout.

Way wrong. It was 4th and 3. Not extremely difficult.

Negatives were 3 less points. That doesn't compare to potentially 4 more points from a td and no fg from Detroit.

You can't keep settling for FGs in a game like that.

No brainer go for it.
What choice do you have when you can't score TDs?

Sure, Dak... Marino, same thing.
By passing yards, on average per year, if you look you might be surprised to see that Dak actually has more yards on average than Marino.

Yes, Marino has won more playoff games, but the reality is both are good QB's who have never won a super bowl.

I will admit though, I've never seen Marino watching him play have those deer in the headlights look LOL

Keep in mind, I'm neither a Dak supporter or hater. Dak took his money from Jerry and is stuck playing for Jerry, so he made his bed and he can sleep in it IMO.

When I look at what Hurts in Philly has done and the way he looks playing, I'd almost be worried about them winning another SB with Dak being philly's QB. That said, Hurts has been to two super bowls, winning one, Dak can't get past
the first round it seems if we're lucky enough to get there. Go figure...

Without Mahomes, Reid wouldn't sniff the HoF. Like that Belichick guy.
You do realize he went to 4 nfc championship games with Philly ? He was a solid coach before Pat but even better with
