I doubt it, at least not to that extent. Of course thats football and hopefully as his career progresses he will be able to overcome adversity.

One thing Ive noticed is when Dak forces the ball to Dez over and over our offense goes to crap.

Coaches have to find a way to open up the middle if the field and Beasley again.

I think there is a big difference between not having a great Oline and run game and having to perform knowing that. And then having both a great Oline and running game and all of a sudden taking it away out of nowhere. The coaching staff was ill prepared to deal with it and therefore Dak was unprepared.

The coaching staff basically expected to do all the same things exactly the same and expected the same results. Madness.

Dak did what he had to do. 300 yards and 3 TD's is doing what you need to do to win for your team. And yes we lost because the defense and Garrett caved.
Look, I was a strong Dak supporter after last year. But it should be clear to anyone who is objective that Dak regressed this year. And two things concern me beyond his supporting cast:
1. He was inaccurate on MANY throws. That has NOTHING to do with talent. He simply flat out missed opened receivers.
2. He was not able to elevate the team merely by his play alone. As an elite quarterback, we need him to win for us when the talent around him is not up to par. He didn't do that this year.

Now ...

I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt because he just completed his second year. And he's not getting any help from Jason Garrett. So we'll see. But if the inaccuracies continue, we're in serious trouble because those don't tend to correct themselves. However, there is hope because he was pretty accurate his rookie year.

Dak's third year is going to be a big one for him and the Cowboys

An objective voice of reason there. There were games in 2016 where he started out inaccurate and then settled down. I've seen the same from Romo.

There was enough in 2016 to say he might be a franchise QB and there was enough in 2017 to say he might and enough to say he might not. This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone - he was a 4th round "project" QB when they drafted him. Projects don't come to fruition overnight.

It was unrealistic to anoint him last year - if Parcells were here he would've said "whoa, tap the breaks there on the HoF". But it is just as unrealistic after this year to label him KP. As you said, next year will move the needle one way or the other.

Oh, so like a good QB, he responded.

The Packers had one of the worst pass defenses in the league last year. Any QB should have had their way with them. His inability to take advantage in the first half put this team in a hole.

Your not worth talking to about it. Hell, you dont even know what personnel changed around him.
He essentially was working with the same team absent Zeke for six games. But when he had Zeke, we still lost four games. We loss Tryon Smith for a few games and didn't have Leary. But we had everyone else.
Let's stop making excuses for him. Inaccurate passes aren't the result of a few missing pieces on offense.

Heres a fact, that Dak stans wont admit

The Dallas Cowboys have by far, the worst QB in the NFC East.
This is laughable. Eli got benched for who......add to the fact I can't imagine what you Dak haters would have said had he got the number 2 overall pick

Washington don't even have a QB at the moment

At this point, it's a complete mystery on how good a QB Dak Prescott is.

Is he the guy who had a rookie season for the ages and ended up with 104 QB rating in 2016

OR

the the guy who ended 2017 ranked 17th in the league in passing (86.6 QB rating) one spot ahead of Andy Dalton and one spot behind Tyrod Taylor?

I really don’t want to get in another Dak argument.

That being said. If you watch the packers playoff game. Really watch it. You’ll see that the slow start for the offense wasn’t because of Poor QB play.

It absolutely was.

You’re blind.

First drive, dak takes a sack on 1st down that results in 2nd and long. This is followed up by a pass on 3rd and 2 that goes incomplete leading us to take a field goal instead of moving forward for a touchdown.

The Packers score a touchdown and take an early lead.

Two back to back incomplete passes forces another dallas punt.

The Packers score another touchdown and expand their lead.

Two more incomplete passes on the next set of downs results in a 3 and out.

Green Bay scores yet again...

Good drive by Dak cuts the lead.

Packers are forced to punt for the first time.

Three straight incomplete passes from Prescott end a drive before half time with only a field goal.

Prescott throws an interception on the next cowboys drive...

This is the thing... if your QB HAS TO HAVE all the best to look serviceable, he’s not very good. With the exception of the Atlanta game, the offensive line played average to above average for the entire season. The line and running game without Zeke was better than the majority of the league and Dak sputtered out. He’s an inaccurate passer.

Eli had a better season than Dak, without his top 2 receivers and no OL.

On top of that, they are about to select a blue-chip QB in the draft, while we stuck with Dak

Why does Romo even need to be mentioned? Just point out why you think Dak is great & leave it at that. Someone always has to be be an S-Stirrer for no damn reason.

Exactly. This is a bait thread by the OP. I understand his whole point in defending Dak and all that and he made great points in his post, but Romo has nothing to do with how Dak played this season. Romo is retired and in the booth and some people need to accept that. As a huge Romo fan, I accepted that and moved on to embracing Dak as the guy. There are several people around this forum who have serious issues with Dak, but the reason everyone keeps bringing Tony is because the so-called Dak haters keep bringing him up.

I don't think there was nearly the difference between the 2016 Dak and the 2017 version that those numbers show. Big difference in the conditions under which he was operating, but only slight differences in the way he responded to them.

when pressured on ≥ 40% of dropbacks in game
2016 (3 games)
48 of 94 (51%) 591 yd (6.3 ypa) 4 td 3 int 71.7
2017 (8 games)
161 of 257 (63%) 1526 yd (5.9 ypa) 5 td 12 int 66.1

when pressured on < 40% of dropbacks in game
2016 (14 games)
287 of 403 (71%) 3378 yd (8.4 ypa) 22 td 2 int 112.5
2017 (8 games)
147 of 233 (63%) 1798 yd (7.7 ypa) 17 td 1 int 109.3
