Cam anyone explain to me why Jackson and Herbert are so fawned upon? Especially Jackson.

Jackson’s style of quarterback play is not one that I like to watch but the man is literally 70% of his offense so he’s gotta get credit for that but it does come with the injury issues

Herbert is mechanically as sound as a Qb can be and when you combine a 6’6 Qb that has a ton of athleticism AND can make every throw, his potential is wicked high.

of course we all know that we’d rather have Dak than those 2 pedestrians.

I have been in those Dak threads and I have challenged their positions. It doesn't matter what framing you give, they just want him gone. The false dichotomy of Cowboys or Dak is front and center.

their only thing is that you will not be able to win a superbowl if you don't have an Elite QB. they can't think of any other way. essentially they are saying, lets qualify 2,3 elite QBs, all other team go home, you don't have a chance.

Even when he has a good game he gets bashed by the usual suspects. They’ll find a couple of inaccurate throws and jump on him for those. If he has a great game, they’ll disappear for a week and return the next time he has a bad game. They only come here to bash Dak.

1) Patrick Mahomes
2) the elites (the 3 or 4 aside from Mahomes that will likely be frequently seen aging in conference Championships and superbowls over the next 10 years
3) the Above averagers
4) the ham and eggers.... (see Washington's QBs for last 30 years for examples)
5) the scrubs.... starters who really should be backup QBs.

Dak falls in the Above Average-ers.

Nobody in here would argue he's mahomes....nor argue he's a scrub. Most wouldn't call him Elite.

He's in that group where whether you rank him 7th, or 14th, it doesn't really matter.

Exactly! Could not have said it better. This stat is just ranking an individual, the QB. It really has no meaning within a team concept. It's more of a fan concept of where our QB ranks with the other QBs' playing this season.

It means nothing in the grand scheme of things. Rank Dak as number #1 or #31 as you wish.

All the other players on the team need ranked also if you want to arrive at a team ranking. This why I call Statistics sadistics...use them to your advantage.

Dak absolutely struggled in San Francisco, yes. That was a divisional round game on the road, vs the very best defense in football.

But how'd he get to that game? And why wasn't Herbert playing that weekend???

Because the previous weekend, Dak DESTROYED the Buccaneers 7th-ranked defense. And Herbert led a historic CHOKE-JOB vs the Jaguars 21st-ranked defense.

Nobody's even arguing that Dak is better than Herbert.

But to claim that Herbert SURELY would have beaten the best defense on the road, when he's been to the playoffs ONCE and hasn't won a playoff game? That's as dense as dense gets.
