Again, I wasn't referring to Romo. That was an earlier context that I missed. But, to comment on that, who knows how Romo would have handled it? Romo certainly had games over his career where he struggled under the kind of pressure Dak had yesterday. All QB's have. There simply is no way to know if Romo would have been better or worse under the circumstances. Dak really didn't do a bad job with it yesterday. 398 yards is actually a pretty strong offensive output, and 277 passing yards isn't bad at all, especially considering how porous the O-Line was.
The point is Dak has NOT had these type of games regarding pressure that Romo experienced regularly. It is not about Romo, it is about those claiming Dak is a tough SOB in one game, when he’s basically had top flight blocking his whole career. Even this year, through a majority of the seasons, he’s had the top blocking OL in the league.
Even last night, he was sacked once and Dak moved the ball when Dallas fed the ball to Zeke as the driver. On their first shire in the third, Zeke touched the ball NINE out of 12 times consuming half the clock. How is that pressure?
the next drive 5 out of 9 plays were rushes. Zeke has a rush of 10 and 8 yards and Pollard 10 yards. Dak sailed a pass over the head of Witten despite having no pressure on him and then he sailed the pass on the left on a miscommunication with the WR. That’s when Maher missed the FG, but Dak had more than enough time.
the point being the whole second half, particularly the third, when the running game started wearing down the Saints front, Dak saw very little pressure.
People exaggerate and over-dramatize Dak’s environment like he’s experiencing levels unheard of around the league to pump up his non existent legend. The guy still hasn’t brought his team back from ten points or more since his first year here, but he’s supposedly ‘clutch’.
