We only went 3 and out once against the Packers and that was because of an INT. The Packers had a 14 play scoring drive on their opening possession. Are you going to blame the offense for that? We had over 500 yards of offense in that game with 37 first downs. Our damn defense got plenty of rest, but couldn’t stop the Packers no matter what. Funny how some of you keep making excuses for our the defense.
How many yards/drives/1st downs did Dallas have in the 1st half?

Fans spin EVERYTHING as well.

Why can't fans take what was said at face value? It is minor and the boot is precautionary. Minor injuries can become more, if not properly taken care of.
And for a professional athlete, it is a good thing to do.
For anyone else, yeah most would wrap it or just walk around on it. As it is not needed to walk from your car to your work area or desk.

But fans want to make it a major issue more than it really is, or may be.
Exactly. And I don't think they realize that he might have a minor sprain and is using a walking boot he already had. My wife sprained her ankle one year and kept the boot they gave her. Several years later, she got a very minor sprain and used the boot she had just to help support it better so it will heal faster. She certainly didn't need it. This is likely a non-issue.

We absolutely sucked in the first half. The O was just as bad as the D. Down 27-7 Dallas could have tacked on some points before the end of the half, but Dak threw another pick. Then to start the 2nd half we could barely move the ball. Made it 27-10 with a 5 and a half minute drive.

Truth of the matter is, GB didn't have to score again. Dallas could have held GB to 0 points in the second half and Dallas still would have lost. We've seen it how many times? It doesn't get better until the game is already over.

I don't know why it matters at this point. It's early July. Even if it's something that takes 6 weeks to heal, there is plenty of time.

LOL! So you know a lot of peeps who go Deep sea fishing with walking boots do you ?

Chokota fans will believe anything
Not a Dak fan, but don't hate on him either. Like some of you do 24 / 7.

Actually I do know some people that went deep sea fishing.

As I said, it is worn to prevent it from further damage. What part do you not understand?

I can understand how it can be likely that his ankle is bothering him for some reason and he chose to wear a boot on the unstable platform of a fishing boat as a precautionary measure against further injury. That makes some sense and I thought of the possibility myself when I first saw the picture of him clearly in a marina either heading out or coming in.

You know what though?

I can also wonder about exactly what is going on with the ankle and understand that I, as a fan am very likely not going to get the full story from Dak or the team.

It's as if you believe the player/team is always going to be 100% transparent and it is our duty to just "take it at face value".

I don't blame teams for holding their cards tight to the chest. I would too. I would also understand that one of the outcomes of that strategy will be a lack of trust from the fans leading to speculation such as we have here.

Why is all that so hard for you to understand and why do you insist that everyone else just "take it at face value" despite all the evidence that suggests we fans should take these types of reports with a grain of salt, instead.

I mean there is at least a little bit of a story here, with the franchise QB protecting some sort of injury on his surgically repaired ankle a few weeks from training camp. Surely you understand that, right?

Only once in that whole game? Lol yea, you didn't watch it, the offense stalled multiple times

I do understand all of that. It just amazes me how some fans always think the worst of the FO.
I don't trust everything they say and do. But I also feel that are not always trying to fool the fans.

Yes, only once the entire game. You must not have watched it or enjoy exaggerating. You claimed we kept going 3 and out and you were wrong! Hard to gain over 500 yards with 37 first downs and 32 points, going 3 and out all day.

I don't get it either. He's our QB. You can be critical, I just don't get the hate. Same with Romo. Relax. Root for them, curse them during games, that's all good. But the carry over can be a bit much.

We literally went 3 out the first drive. 5 3 and out drives the second half. You dont go scoreless for the majority of the game if youre not going 3 and out

What game are you talking about? I’m talking about the Green Bay game last January. We had 6 plays on our first drive. We scored 32 points in the game with over 500 yards and 37 first downs. If you’re talking about the San Francisco playoff games in 2021 and 2022, I’m not wasting anymore time on those. We’ve exhausted them. I get it, you don’t like Dak. You’re one of those that will never be happy with any QB we end up with.

I for one always trust the experts. Thank you brother.
You bet. If anyone in your family has a weird mole they are worried about, post a pic and I’ll give my expert opinion.

It was the 2022 season that almost broke me with Dak. However, last season gave me hope despite what happened in the playoffs. He went from leading the league in INT’s in 2022 to leading the league in TDs. He had an MVP caliber season last year. I get that it didn’t work out in the playoffs, but it wasn’t entirely his fault and if it was, I would be on board with a majority of the fans that it’s time for a change. I believe firmly that if we could somehow build a solid defense that shows up in the playoffs and give him a consistent running game, that we could go a long way with him. He’s having to do too much. There’s been some damn good QBs in the NFL struggle because they’re having to do too much. We saw what happened to Mahomes a few years ago in the Super Bowl against Tampa. He struggled mightily.

Lamar Jackson has had his issues in the playoffs because it all gets put on him. Josh Allen has had his issues in the playoffs and fans are getting frustrated with him. In my opinion, it’s a huge mistake to move on from a very productive QB who has a high regular season winning percentage because things haven’t gone great in the playoffs. Matt Stafford was 0-3 in the playoffs in Detroit and many were putting the blame on him despite being very productive. He even had a losing regular season record but as soon as he got on a real good team, he immediately wins a Super Bowl. He even led the league in INT‘s that season with the Rams and had two INT’s in the Super Bowl but his defense stepped up. Fans can say what they want but we have a QB that’s good enough to win a Super Bowl on the right team.
Thank you for your football opinions. Very well thought out and they have a place here, at The Zone.

I’m just a simple Google certified orthopedic surgeon so on field football analaysis is a bit beyond me.

But, I can diagnose the heck out of a random image on the internet and provide a prognosis of number of missed games.

In this case. The number is zero.

I tried but the mods took it down. Something about this being a "family friendly" board.
