Dak is just a regular season stat QB nothing more

Its funny that the defense gives up 44 points...yep 44. Let that sink in. And here are the Hate Dak Cult posting one Dak thread after another.

I dont get it.

And no. I am.not defending Dak...but 44 points people..Come on now
10 years of failing to come out and perform in pressure games is a hell of long time. Dak isn't getting better, he's the sand idiot throwing laterals and making bone headed slow decisions that continue to lead to slow starts. Dak and I offense scored 13, let that sink in. Aubrey, not offense scores 17, and they were short fg, he literally broke a record for most FG beyond 55 yards in one game.lol

Dak will forever be known as the stats regular season QB

When it matters against good teams and the playoffs he’s a total dud

/facts
Until the defense is at least average we will never know. Dak same as Romo have no wiggle room

Exactly, let him play, let him lose, and let the facts speak for themselves. No acting here, just observation. Facts > feelings.

If trying something different means rebuilding a team around a timing-and-support QB instead of an elite one… well, that’s on the front office, not me.
In the meantime, we just sit back and let him keep doing what hasn't worked.....waste another 60 million and another year for fans that would rather try to win than bend over....go ahead, don't hurt your back

Ew, good comeback. I'm not sure what your point is. Dan Marino and Jim Kelly both went to the dance. They both played well in the playoffs and had deep runs. No, I do not think Trent Dilfer or Nick Foles are better than Hall of Famers who are in what many consider to be the best QB class of all time(1983). I will say that Trent and Dilfer were one-hit wonders, and that's still better than Dak, as he's a no-hit wonder. I love this topic, bc its massive deflection and insecurity complex, using others accomplishment(dilfer and files)to try to support your argument for a post season failure in Dak. My original post stated nfc championships, should have been more clear about getting to and winning a divisional championship or getting to Superbowl is better than not going. Dan went three times, Dak hasn't played like or done enough to sniff the divisional championship game. Jim went to the Super Bowl four straight times, and just because he didn't win doesn't mean he wasn't successful in getting his team deep into the playoffs.

Its not deflection or insecurity.

You judge one quarterback based on post season success. I have no problem with that, as long as we hold EVERY quarterback to the same standards.

You are contradicting yourself my friend.

If a quarterbacks worth is based on post season success.... well winning the Superbowl is the highest level of success that can be achieved in the post season.

According to your logic, your rules.... Nick Foles and Trent Dilfer were quarterbacks who WON the Superbowl. Kelly and Marino didn't. So again.... according to what you've told me about post season success measurements.... Dilfer and Foles were clearly better than Marino and Kelly.

People don't play to reach championship games, the goal is to win a Superbowl. So you can't have one set of rules for one quarterback, then move goalposts for other quarterbacks who play in the same league.

Thats called hypocrisy my friend.

Eli Manning was a top QB coming out of college. He also was a better passer from the jump than Dak...the main job of a QB.

The other thing about Eli is that...he won 3 road games to get to the SB. If Dak did that to 3 non-playoff teams, you guys throw him a parade. He did it to 3 playoff teams to get to the SB - and then beat the GOAT.

Then he did it again to the greatest team of all time.

So...as much as I don't love Eli...Dak doesn't belong in the same BREATH. He's not even Lamar. He's the best of the above average...but he's not elite.
I don't know who the "you guys throw a parade" people are but ok....

Eli was a damn good quarterback, no doubt. During those Superbowl years vs the Patriots, the Giants beat the Patriots. According to what you've stated, Eli Manning was better than Tom Brady because "he" beat Brady twice head to head in the Superbowl.

Lets dissect that for a minute.

Was it Eli Manning who outplayed Brady? Or was it the Giants defense who helped Eli win vs Brady?

I just thought about something. "Eli" beat Brady in two Superbowls. If a quarterback beat the greatest quarterback of all time in two Superbowls.... and one of the teams were the "greatest of all time", shouldn't he be first ballot HOF? Why haven't Eli got in as a first ballot HOFer? Im actually curious.

With all of that said, I never compared Dak to Eli.

One last thing. Quarterbacks don't win Superbowls, teams do. You just proved that point by stating how Brady, the GOAT was on a GOAT team and still loss.

I like all of your other points up there but people get too caught up in "this or that quarterback beat this team or that team". That has never happened and never will.

If a quarterback could win games by themselves then GOAT quarterbacks would be undefeated. This isn't boxing or golf.

Yep, when the defense has a 50 burger almost dropped on them and there is nothing but one thread after another claiming we need a new QB, I dont get it.

Fine, go draft Arch Manning and see how many games he wins here with a defense giving up almost 50 dam points.

Then I guess there will be threads claiming Arch is just "a stat padding regular season QB".

Babysitting a QB in Year 10 isn’t a ‘plan.’
If a quarterback still needs hand-holding, constant coaching in his ear, and a perfect scenario to function… that tells you everything about his ceiling.

Wanting results isn’t ‘bending over.’
It’s called reality.

Dak is who he is at this point — no amount of babysitting or wishful thinking is going to turn him into something he’s never been.

It's called quitting....as long as he's our QB, we should all want him to play well and get coached up, to do so. If you aren't gonna bench him, coach him...otherwise you're quitting....some of you would rather say, I told you so, than win....blind dislike of a player. Don't like him, who cares, I know he's choked and played poorly in tough moments, but, hes OUR QB, I won't bend over and quit....as long as he's on the field, he's the only hope we have, like it or not. On the bright side, you might find a couple of pennies when you're down there. Have a great day....

Wanting a QB to stop repeating the same mistakes isn’t ‘quitting.’
It’s called expecting improvement.

You keep confusing realism with ‘hate.’
I don’t dislike Dak — I just don’t pretend after a decade that he’s suddenly going to transform into something he’s never been.

Coaching can clean up details.
Coaching can’t replace traits.

If your plan is:
‘Year 10 QB still needs babysitting, hand-holding, and a perfect setup,’
Then that’s not a plan, that’s denial.

Supporting the team doesn’t mean lowering the standard.

But hey, if you want to pretend the next sprinkle of coaching fairy dust will fix everything… go for it.

I’ll stick with facts over feelings

The only fact that we disagree with is the way he's being coached. Most QBs in the league are coached up during the game, that's not babying, that's coaching. It doesn't happen in Madden, that's why you haven't heard of it. The other fact is, you would rather lose, than try something different....that's called being a quitter, but it's plain to see that many of you quit on Dak and this team, a long time ago. You think that drafting a new QB will magically make us a SB team....it could happen, but won't, if that pick isn't coached. Dak hasn't been the guy, chances are, he'll never be the guy, but right now, he's all we got....it that ruins your day, good....quitters deserve to be miserable. We have so many issues with this team, pinning all on one player is lazy and ignorant. The Chiefs have a losing record, does Mahomes suck? Do you think having Andy Reid in his ear doesn't help him? Lol....like talking to a brick wall, a fluffy one, at that. Ok...let's move on, we'll agree to disagree.

You keep calling everyone a ‘quitter’ because it’s easier than accepting the simple truth:
If a 10-year veteran needs constant hand-holding just to function, that’s not coaching, that’s life support.

Most QBs get coached between drives.
They don’t need a babysitter in their ear every snap like you’re describing.
That’s not NFL football… that’s training wheels.

And no, wanting to stop repeating the same failed formula isn’t ‘quitting.’
It’s called having standards, something you keep mistaking for negativity because it hurts your feelings.

You’re acting like Dak is some delicate houseplant that needs misting, sunlight, encouragement, and a pep talk every 3 minutes just to survive.
If that’s your argument, you’re proving my point for me.

I don’t expect magic from a rookie.
I just don’t expect year-10 panic from a veteran.

But hey, if believing in fairy-tale coaching fixes helps you sleep, enjoy it.
Some of us prefer the real world over the fluffy one you’re living in.

Calling YOU a quitter, I'm having a discussion with YOU, the quitter.....he sucks, we shouldn't have to coach him, I'll QUIT and wait til we draft a savior.....waste another year, cause Dak ain't going anywhere....so, yes, I'm calling YOU a quitter...I'm talking about this team, not calling you a quitter at anything else....

You're too funny. So...the Chiefs game wasn't a big game? The Eagles game wasn't a big game? It was TWO de-facto playoff games.

When Rockport left last October - that was the very definition of quitting. At least Crash is still here discussing his views with you. Just because you disagree doesn't make him or anyone else a quitter.

I’m not quitting anything — I’m giving an opinion on a player. You’re the one turning a football debate into personal insults. Calm down, we’re just talking Cowboys.

Yes, the classic 'I’ll call you a quitter because I have no counterpoint' move. Bold strategy — pity it only works in high school debates. Facts still stand, my friend. Dak is what he is, and refusing to see it won’t make him suddenly elite. Enjoy the ride, I’ll be over here watching logic take the wheel.

Keep flailing, my friend — I’ll just keep standing here with facts and a smile. Facts > feelings, always.

Yeah...Mahomes is #2 in QBR. Prescott #1. Andy Reid is a first ballot HoF coach. Neither him nor Mahomes can erase all the holes on the team at present.

1. You need Tyler Guyton back asap...because this absolute fairy tale involving Nate Thomas is just that...a guy who has been hyped by wishful-thinking content creators and others surrounding the team. T. Steele has and will continue to be a liability in pass pro. They both got their rear ends overhauled against Detroit. So while you have your interior line sorted out and Guyton at LT, Steele is still a clear and present danger.

2. Shavon Revel ain't prime-time ready and he's out there with a knee brace on. This nonsense about Diggs is also just that. If he's 100% he should be worked back into the rotation. If he buys in keep him. If he doesn't then cut him loose next year. Simple as that. You need to see what this guy has left before you throw him off the boat. Edge, CB, S, LB should be the only things on the boards on draft day 2026.

3. The Cowboys need more carries and more dynamism from the RB room. Williams is a tank but you need a Gibbs type player to pair with him. A guy with great hands, good wiggle and swift feet...home run threat.

The best versions of Dak...2023 (Second team All Pro, #2 QBR) and 2025 (#1 QBR currently and best against the blitz) have coincided with TWO relevant things. The fabulous disaster of a defensive collapse against Green Bay in 2023 and the historically bad defense that this team has fielded this year.

You are WELL OFF the reservation. Prescott has improved since 2021 and 2022. What has become demonstrably WORSE is a defense that since 2023 has been become laughable.

So who do you want out of the current crop of quarterbacks behind center in Dallas??? Because all of them are having worse seasons than Prescott. There are only FOUR quarterbacks currently rated above 70 in QBR:

Prescott
Mahomes
Love
Maye...in that order.

I'd would personally call it something more pejorative. Prescott is the very least of the Cowboys problems at present. He finally elevates himself in 2023 and the defense collapses. Out for 2024. Picks up where he left off in 2025 and the defense is a clusterfk dressed in a clown suit. We would rail against Quinn for his run fits but oh would I love to have that 2022 defense right about now.

Dak’s high stats, like his QBR or passing yards, can be inflated by situations where the defense puts the team behind, because he’s forced to throw more, often in predictable or “garbage-time” scenarios. In other words, a weak defense means more attempts, more short passes, more completions under controlled circumstances, which boosts stats even if it doesn’t translate to wins when it counts most.

It’s not that the defense “creates” good stats—they just don’t stop the offense from needing to rack up numbers in a stat-padding way. Against a strong defense, those same stats might drop, and Dak’s limitations become more visible.

So the takeaway: the stats look impressive on paper, but the context matters—and in Dak’s case, the context often makes him look better than his overall game impact.

Not exactly ‘good play because the defense sucks,’ but let’s be real—when your defense gives up historic collapses, Dak gets more throws, more completions, more chances to pad stats. That boosts QBR and numbers, but doesn’t change the fact that in real pressure moments, the results aren’t elite. Facts > feelings

so was detroit a pressure game? we scored 30. within 7 points with 4 minutes to go.....running game not working. tackles are turnstiles.... and defense gives up 44, yet you just said, not performing in pressure games...are you p!ssed that we didn't score 45? is that your expectations? if yes, its ok. its ok to have unreasonable expectations....again defense gave up 44!!!

and aubrey is a weapon. yes. and the team was in position for him to score field goals.... but again. 30 points!!! that's the average for the highest scoring team in the league..... is your expectations that we should average 40 points? in fact we it took 40 points to tie a game and win a game... again, its ok to have that expectations.

btw, you said same idiot who throws laterals...he had 375 yards against detroit...we must have one heck of set of recievers to take a zero yard lateral and translate it to 375 yards.

btw, you know Gibbs set a record with 48 TDs before age of 24 in NFL HISTORY. LOL. against our defense. LOL. better than Barry sanders!!! LOL. yep that defense.
