Oh yeah . . . go and checkout how many plays the Triplets ran in the nineties . . . its all about execution
Play books in the 90's had like 180 pages. Play books these days have over 500 pages. So don't compare play calling back then to play calling now. Because is one thing isn't working these days you just switch to something else.

Moore calls too many runs up the middle. He calls too many post routes in the middle of the secondary. And he calls too many out routes. Where has Dak's interceptions been committed this year? On out routes and post routes. That's not a coincidence. It's easy for the defense to defend a play when they know what's coming.

Now why don't you explain to me why the cornerback just stood there, with no immediate deep help, on the pick 6. Our wide receiver could have ran right by that guy if you wanted too. So why was the coverage so good on that play?

Cowboys lost on purpose today so we play the Eagles in the 2nd round. Dak is 10-1 against them!!!
I like this explanation it just seems a little better than we absolutely suck in every facet of the game right before we're going into the playoffs

I wasn't a fan but I have to admit Scott Linehan knew what he had with Dak from the beginning that's why he got him out of the pocket immediately. The minute they put Dak in the pocket the flaws began to show. Many of us commented on his throws down the middle were always behind the receivers . It was a sign.
Now he's steering his throws which is even worse, they are really late. If he tries to put something extra on the ball it sails high. Now he's become totally ineffective. Last year the division was crap and we thrived, this year the whole NFC is garbage with the exception of a handful of teams. Dak survives, he has a stout OL, superior RBs , solid TEs, and CeeDee who can't be covered and explodes after the catch.
The bottom line.
We're stuck with Dak for at least 2 seasons, the only way forward is to draft a QB or TWO and let the competition begin.
I love Daks intangibles, but he's done in the NFL.

Can't dispute that......but our OC is not smart also........so that means two people controlling the offense or key to the offense that aren't smart. How's that gonna work?

Wow… I did not realize it was that bad. This guy named Sam Howell threw half the amount of passes that Dak did…but for more yards

How does that happen?
Howell threw the ball to his players.

He's physically gifted. He's tough. He leaves it all out on the field. He doesn't let bad plays get him down. He says the right things and represents the team well, and his teammates seem to like him. That's all great.

He's also a better quarterback than most.

But if this season has proven one thing, it is this: Dak Prescott is not a smart player.

How can anyone even argue otherwise?

Over and over again, Dak makes the same mistakes. He makes terrible throws to the other team in the worst spots. He throws to receivers who are double and triple covered.

Each time Dak throws a crippling interception, he gets up at the podium after the game and says the same thing: Can't happen. Won't happen. I'll make sure it doesn't happen again.

And then he does it again. And again. And again.

What else can you call a player who doesn't learn?

In tonight's game, Dak threw a terrible ball that would have been yet another easy pick-6, if not for Fuller falling down and dropping it. So what does he do ON THE VERY NEXT PLAY? He throws an even worse ball TO THE SAME SPOT, AND TO THE SAME DEFENDER. Pick 6.

The announcers were tripping over themselves not to call him stupid. Because it was stupid.

Did he learn from it? No. He kept throwing to receivers with two or three Washington players draped all over them.

Oh, sure, we'll win more than we lose with Dak. We'll even put up 30 and 40 points sometimes and look great. But it's an illusion. We won't win games THAT MATTER unless someone can figure out how to fix a quarterback who makes bad decisions this often.

Guess you have to put Rodgers in the same category after tonight, huh?

Dak went 9-3 to end the season, with two losses coming in OT and the other in a game where the entire team seemed checked out.

Get back to me after the playoffs. If Dak plays like he did tonight in any playoff game, I'll be concerned. Until then, I'm not.
I could not imagine having this mindset on where the our qb is.

I never saw a QB get away with a pick six and then come back the next play and make it happen anyway. Not good.
That's the type thing a rookie does in the first quarter of his first preseason game. Not a 7 year veteran. Inexcusable.

But going back the OP, yes Dak makes poor decisions with the ball is not a smart player. And it's killing us in big games.

I will be the voice of sanity in a world of piranha. Dak is a mostly 5th round QB who is an over achiever with the ability to take his team far IF, the Oline is good, and he has receivers with separation. He's not a tight window thrower and a QB who processes things quickly like Mahomes etc. So why make him that? If he's going to be your QB, you need to have the brains to give him plays that compliment him.

You can't have a weak offensive line, which we do, because he's not the best scrambler in the world. You can't give him average speed receivers because he's not overly efficient in throwing in tight windows, and you need a better offensive system if you're going to not only pay Dak but keep him. If you're not going to do those things, let him walk, who cares how much you paid for him.
Well wriiten post and good points. Yes you are the voice of sanity. I agree with everything you said. We need an OC in here to coach the offense to play to his strengths and play away from his weaknesses. When Dak tries to be Mahomes and Allen it fails. He also not smart enough to make better decisions when trying to play hero ball. I'd like to see Moore replaced this year to see what Dak really is with an OC that gameplans better.

The most common criticisms of Prescott come down to intelligence and ranking status.
i don't care about rankings.

i also don't think that he isn't a smart person. and i didn't say he wasn't a smart person. as a player, though, he makes too many dumb decisions. there are less intelligent people who nonetheless learn to stop making the same mistakes over and over again.

He has low football IQ. He keeps running out of bounds at a loss instead of throwing it away. He’s done this a million times in his career and never improved it.

He’s clearly got issues and it’s time to start thinking about the post Dak era in a couple of years.

Seems like Fed Ex Field has become a house of horrors for Dak. The last 6 quarters there have been some of the ugliest football imaginable from a QB.

No doubt Dak played poor I would also add WR were not getting separation with every pass being contested by Washington. Every rout seemed to be a curl rout, no slants no crossing routs no motion by WR. Really was just an all around cluster F. Dak will need to rebound and I hope we have a much better game plan than we had vs Washington

If Dak was on any other team, he’d be a backup or even out of the league at this point. He’s not “better than most”.

physically gifted? He’s not tall, his mechanics suck, his footwork is questionable, he’s inaccurate and late with his deliveries, his processing speed sucks.. he runs lead-footed. He’s just strong and he can throw when he has time to plant his feet.. Whoopity doo….

He’s also like you said, not smart.. he stares down his WRs.. which people blame on Moore..

The OL and RG has masked his deficiencies to a large degree.

Because Dak stares down his Wide Receivers

The rest of your questions can be summed up like this . . . It osthe Chicken or the egg scenario . . . is it the play calling or is it the way Dak executes them?

I believe it is the later
