Dak is not the guy

This is why I hate people! Dak has career qb rating of 98 and he's a season removed from three straight 12-5 seasons. (I know, I know ... Rush started some games).

There are several QB making 55-56 million a year, why do y'all act as if the 60 million is such an outlier?
You hate people because they don't bow down to you.

When you get paid like the number one guy and by a large margin, you better play like the number one guy! An 86 qb rating last year is about 7 points below average.

Dak won like 3 games last year and even more losses..86 qb rating (To be fair, I did enjoy the Pittsburgh win).

Cooper Rush went basically 5 (I am giving him the Cincinnati win because of that Penn State cornerback, who let the ball hit him on the kick off and the turnover) and 6 last year…83 qb rating

Anyway, not much difference. Basically the same performance… a mid 80’s qb rating number is the baseline for being a career back up.

For 60 million a year, shouldn’t that gap be significantly and I mean SIGNIFICANTLY wider? Thinking 101 qb rating along with 12 wins a year vs an 86.

Dak is taking up 20% of the cap while dude taking up .4% is playing about the same.

If you get paid like the man, you better be the man!!!

What point have you thought Dak could win 3-4 games in a row in the playoffs? He can barely win one.

It is not luck. You need dominant qb play in this league and the playoffs. He is NOT the guy. The Dak experiment needs to end. We need a new QB ASAP.

Go Cowboys!
Just what we need, another useless anti Dak thread….

Good point. He’s one of a number of overpaid NFL quarterbacks. Because there are others does not mean every Cowboys fan has to be pleased with Dak’s $60 million per season deal.
Would it really matter if he was making $45M instead of $60M?

We have a front office that isn't willing to spend big to give the team the best shot regardless.

You're bailing Jerry out by blaming Dak. Dak's a good-but-not-great QB, and the best we currently have.

It's not like we aren't trying to upgrade for cheaper - would've been great if Trey Lance and now Joe Milton panned out. Dak is simply the best we can do at QB for the time being.

2-5 in the playoffs.
Chokes in the postseason.
Financially chokes the team with his salary.
What is not to like, chaps?
Show me one playoff game where the team played well enough to win, where the OL held up, where the receivers were open and Dak choked. Show me a playoff game where the defense played well enough to win.

If you mean Dak wasn’t super man and didn’t take the team on his shoulders and single-handedly win the game, okay…that’s true for sure. In my opinion, the only team we’ve had even close to being championship quality was 2014 - offense -
Demarco Murray 1800 rushing yards
Romo
Witten
Dez, Terrance Williams, Cole Beasley
T Smith
Leary
Fredrick
Martin
Free

Mostly in their prime. Yet that team also crapped the bed. It’s not the QB.

No one can look at the Dak contract after last year and think he's not way overpaid. But he got paid based on the year he had in 2023. Now he faces a lot of pressure to show he can rebound and with addition of Pickens he has a weapons and less excuses.

I certainly support Dak and will root for him because he's the QB of my favorite team, but time is narrowing for him to get it done.

And that doesn't make him not a huge problem.

He is a complete fraud who even if he's carried to the playoffs will come up small against real teams with real defenses and real QBs. He always does and he always will.
I cannot change the fact that Dak will be our quarterback problem or not

His 2024 performance was disappointing even by his standards, that isn’t disputed.

But on a very general level, you can win with an average-or-better QB as long as the rest of the team compensates. Dak could be a SB champion somewhere else, and he can be a SB champion in Dallas if the Cowboys were run differently. That is the root of the discourse around Dak: he has to outplay his potential or the team fails. The organization is built to be that way and that is a fatal flaw. Dak in Detroit is probably pretty close to mirroring Goff. Dak in Los Angeles would get them to the playoffs like Herbert did. Dak in Houston probably outplays Stroud (I think people are overrating him a bit).

Knowing what you have in Dak and not adjusting what’s around him will be the problem, because Trying to draft a Josh Allen or a Joe Burrow isn’t a realistic alternative.

I don't look at Dallas so much as a football team or franchise anymore. I now laugh... so I actually just laugh about paying Dak that much. I laugh about all the dumb decisions they make anymore. At 53 years old now... I find it easier to crack jokes about the team I used to get into arguments defending when I was younger.

The OP is correct of course, but the true blame lies with the "GM". He is why Dak is QB1, and he is why Dak is the highest paid player in football. Jerry is a clown, and it's his circus.
He is not correct. Just another biased rant.

Good times are for bandwagon fans, tough times are for true fans. Which bucket do are you in?

OP has ZERO credibility. You give Rush a win because of another players screw up.

How many players screwed up giving the team a loss when it was actually not Dak.

Hypocrisy.
Yea, we lost more games due to poor defense than Dak, some will never admit that fact.

I was cracking up watching Dak throw pick after pick in the GB playoff game…

I'm in that bucket of "What have you done for me lately" (in 30 years) lol.
It is ok though... I remember the last 3 Super Bowls and part of the the last one before those. Good times!
