Dak is under a whole lot of pressure this year

Zeke is the center of the Offense but Dak, like all QB's, will have the most pressure to perform.
With our lack of respect at the WR/TE position, teams will definitely stack the box in order to stop Zeke and to put the onus on Dak to beat them with his arm.
It will be up to him to make teams pay if/when they do this.
If he struggles with inaccuracies and the WR's are unable to beat mainly single coverage, then it will be a long season.

I don't think many QBs, specifically in their first couple of years had the obstacles Prescott had last season.
It wasn't just Elliott.
It wasn't just Smith.
It wasn't just Sean Lee.
It wasn't just Chaz Green.
It wasn't just Collins at RT.
It wasn't just Bailey.
Etc......

Crazy we even won 9 games.

We have a better team this year, especially if Zeke is as angry as some of us hope he is.

How important is Dak right now?

If he has a god year - we can feel confident we've got a franchise QB who can make us relevant for 12-15 years, which coming on the heels of Romo is incredibly fortunate considering teams like Cleveland, Buffalo, Miami, the Jets and Chicago who have been starving for them for a decade or more.

If he has a bad year - the entire coaching staff is fired, we are probably exploring QB options in the draft or free agency and uncertainty will reign over the Cowboys for years to come with no guarantees we dig ourselves out soon.

Other than that...just another season under center for Dak.

Dak Prescott put his big boy pants on in 2016. They still fit...

LOL.....Dak's big boy pants are Zeke's pants...and without them Dak can't win...if the Defense is containing Zeke expect loss after loss after loss ....I mean who really believes that Dak can win without Zeke....really now....:muttley:

P.S. Bus drivers lose there Jobs if no one is onboard.....esp passenger Zeke....

As opposed to his 1st 2 seasons when he had Witten consistently splitting the seem and Dez doing his Julio Jones impersonation. Coming in as a 4th round rookie and taking over for an injured franchise qb is probably the most pressure he can ever have in his pro career!

Please. Most QB who start their first 2 years in the league have much more to deal with than Prescott has had in Dallas. Most QB who start right away are high draft picks, because the team that drafted them sucked. They don't have a zeke, smith, lee or Bailey on their team. Their OL is nothing but Chaz Green type players. Dak walked into a perfect situation for a young QB. The fact that he struggled to be effective without all pro talent around him should tell you something. But let's all pretend that Dak is the answer and move on.

Dak should have a better year. Team should have a better year. If he struggles with a full compliment then there is trouble.

He starts without his center. New WR and TE. They have been practicing together so the WR and TE should be getting on the same page. He has Elliot back. That should ease the pressure. Looney should do pretty good till Fredbeard gets back.

At first look the team itself looks better. Except the ST did not impress me in preseason. We will see really soon.

There are gonna be some here that are gonna dislike Dak no matter what. Same with ones that like him.
