Dak kind of reminds me of the 2006 Romo

He had a 105 rating against Minnesota with 12 completions and 10 offensive points.

Yeah, that's all you need to know about QB ratings.

Well then let's just throw all stats out the window. He had 18 attempts the whole game.

No, but obviously he's going in the wrong direction. Romo may have had his struggles but never did he have a night like Dak last night. That was the most deer in the headlights game I've seen from a QB in a while. And despite that great QB rating, you cannot physically watch the Vikings game a say Dak didn't have a bad game.
Romo had worse games than last night at times. Of course the sample size is much larger. It was just a bad game from Dak on a night when the entire offense and offensive coaches stunk up the place. We have two really good QBs. Be happy.

Yes of course I did. You can question his ability as a holder, but he did enough as a QB to win a playoff game. Dak is losing steam, we'll make the playoffs but we will be one and done with him at QB.
The point of the thread is that Romo lost steam in 2006. He didnt play well after the Thanksgiving game, including the WC game against Seattle

I don't see the similarities honestly. I see different players.

I have never seen Tony play scared . He had bad games but nothing like last night. Dak just isn't ready

Tony Romo never played scared. He might go out and throw five INTs but then he'd find a way to win the game.

I always felt like this team had a chance with Romo at QB.

I'm chuckling every time an arm chair QB calls Dak "scared". He looked confused at times, but calling him "scared" is a bit silly.

My only thing with this point, is that this stat was brought up to defend Romo for years. confirmation bias

He'll be fine. He's smart, wants to pass instead of run, he just needs to work on pre-snap recognition, which will come in time (Romo didn't get great at it until atleast 4 or 5 years into his career). Linehan can't leave him out to dry like he did when things aren't working (everyone on the Break agreed Romo would not have done much against that defence with the receivers not getting any seperation and constant blitzing), and Zeke simply has to feature more.
Everyone on the Break doesn't have firsthand experience vs. a Steve Spagnuolo defense. The man on the bench immediately to Dak's left DOES. This speculation reads like apologist rhetoric. Even the Bears, Browns and Rams put up more than 7 points against New York.

Yep. He's a poor man's Favre. You live and die with Romo's arm. Dak so far is not taking huge risks so he's not going to lose you games. You miss how Romo could go down the field at times but you also got a lot of picks.

Dak needs to learn how to maneuver and handle a collapsing pocket. And lean towards more hot routes underneath when the blitzes are coming. I suspect teams are now going to be playing this offense how Minn and NYG did. Blitz and blitz often. Until he proves he can beat it consistently. He hasn't as of late.

One of the few sensible posts in this thread.

yep he hit a wall...not sure why people are trying to deny it and it's unlikely he won't be able to break through it until the offseason when he works on his mechanics. Every first starter goes through this and we can't let it kill the season when you have Romo on the bench.

Really...Since 2009...Romo has had ONE season where he threw more than 10 INTs...2012, where they tried to turn him into Tom Brady...where he was averaging 40.5 attempts per game.

I think Nate Newton and Broaddus have more experience in playing and game planning than all the arm chair qbs on this board.

Divisional games are different. There's a reason the Rams have the Seahawks number on many occasions even though the Seahawks have been beating most teams the past few years.
