Take the QB position seriously for the first time since Aikman.
Stop building teams around these 4th round/undrafted losers that will fail.
It’s incredibly simple.
You get a QB and it changes everything overnight.
Look at Washington, Pittsburgh, Texans, Lions, Falcons, Vikings, Broncos, Bucs, and Packers.
That’s 9 teams that got a new QB within the past couple of seasons and are currently in the playoffs or on the bubble.
Cooper Rush is 2-2 through 4 games this year just like the 60 mil man was through the first 4 games.
Finding a QB that can change things isn’t as hard as some of y’all want to believe it is.
You speak very general......which tells me you're off the cuff, perhaps.....and back to just Dak, it seems.
Our GM this past year alone:
Decided on Dak/Cee Dee later than sooner, that cost additional money
Had a Trey Lance experiment going that failed miserably in preseason and a Cooper Rush to look at now
Failed to acquire a RB and allowed Barkley to be in Philly and Henry no call (didn't even entertain for Mixon or keep Pollard, at minimum)
Brought Zeke back, just like he did with Witten
Watched too many guys leave that were starters and BEFORE the two big pending contracts above.....to stabilize the defensive interior.
Only addressed the glaring LB position initially with Kendricks, and previously with failure toward Bobby Wagner.
Didn't bother with addressing another WR on offense.....instead dependent on
short Cooks as a WR2.
Addressing the safeties....at least one of 'em.
Salary Cap money still available.
GM pays Coaches lower than the contenders. (But GM is masterful in marketing)
Seems we need to hit rock bottom (we haven't yet, believe it or not) like some of the teams you mentioned, we just needed a retool......where's a Howie Roseman when you need him.
And while you mention Romo as a loser too.......many would say he didn't have much to work with (GM?). That's what they tell me on the board. I can't even mention Dak/Romo comparisons/similarities before some come forth with hasty & angered spirit. Jerry did Romo and the team wrong with first-time HC Jason Garrett (BFF Club)
too long and has been a failed GM since Jimmy was shown the door. Dak (replacing Romo due to injury) was a surprise that enabled this to not be as bad as it could have been.
For many to see our team on opening day.....before injuries.......has been fools gold .....certainly by game 2 against New Orleans. Carr passed less than 20 times. Just my take, thanks MountaineerCowboy.
