This was a shot at Jerry not giving the HC full control. I wouldn't pass up on the opportunity of getting Ben Johnson if he's interested, though.

If McCarthy stays he has to get a new OC.

"Amongst more influence," and "on his terms."

Thats telling...

I was ready to tell Dak to be quiet, but this is yet another demonstration of how dysfunctional we are.

And he's right. Jerry screwed up the roster construction in the offseason. We are one of few franchises where the owner seems to have significantly more control than the coach over roster construction. Jerry needs to let McCarthy buy the groceries.

The only way MM will survive is if he gives up the Offense. He's a dinosaur. Even then, his game management is horrible. With that said, his players haven't given up on him like they did FF3. (Wade). So I'll give him that. He just has to be willing to let someone else run the O or he is done.

I think a different play caller would be good. I would imagine someone that has a wco-run priority playcalling system would be good, or maybe Dak can call plays.

I love how some fans are trying to spin this.

Everybody knows McCarthy is gone after the season.

What in the world do we expect Dak to say at this point, with his teammates still having five games left to play? How would it look from a national perspective and also in the locker room if Dak just came out and said what we all know is going to happen with Big Mike?

Basically, Dak knows how to be politically correct. And that's all there is to this.

What makes anyone think Jerry will bring a HC that is not undermined now? We've seen this with questionable hirings and staffing. And while it's been sidetracked now, the base resorts to simply blaming Dak and heaving criticism unrelenting.......he did this during Tony Romo's years too.

It’s weak that Dak takes these little shots at Jerry while not having the guts to test free agency himself.

Dak signed right back into this situation.

He’s such a fake.
You like our GM that much or is it just you don't like Dak? Now tell me did our GM present the best for Tony Romo?

Not only is Dak in the best shape of his life, and have no lingering side effects from his leg that was ripped apart....he sure knows his coaches and approves Camp Cupcake! Here we go...Here we go...

Of course Dak wants MM to stay on as HC; a new HC might make Dak compete for his job and not coddle him…
That's exactly how I take this as well

"I've got your back Mike. Just don't forget about me next year after my hamstring is reattached to the bone"

Romo was a loser just like Dak is now.
MountaineerCowboy, thanks for responding.......then I must ask......what must the Cowboys do to return to being a serious contender? Just curious of your thoughts......coaching?......QB selection?.......anything? All while we still have our current GM.

Take the QB position seriously for the first time since Aikman.

Stop building teams around these 4th round/undrafted losers that will fail.

It’s incredibly simple.

You get a QB and it changes everything overnight.

Look at Washington, Pittsburgh, Texans, Lions, Falcons, Vikings, Broncos, Bucs, and Packers.

That’s 9 teams that got a new QB within the past couple of seasons and are currently in the playoffs or on the bubble.

Cooper Rush is 2-2 through 4 games this year just like the 60 mil man was through the first 4 games.

Finding a QB that can change things isn’t as hard as some of y’all want to believe it is.

Someone who wasn’t deserving of a new contract endorsing someone as deserving of one rings hollow with me.

Dak…man of the people.

Here is a fact Dak’s crap play this year probably cost Mike a contract.
