I feel like even if I do, you or the other posters displeased with my remarks are just going to make excuses for them (the players) anyway.

When dez Bryant says the team is "Super Bowl ready", that's talking

When Romo says "we're winning the super bowl this year" regardless of where he was at the time (April receiving an award) , it's talking

When Joseph Randle decides to indirectly insult the player that led the league in rushing and insinuate he could possibly do better in certain aspects, it's taking.

When a rookie spends a decent portion of his press conference about how the offensive line will be the best in NFL history, it's talking. (Note: either Frederick or Tyron immediately downplayed the "best line" talk and spoke on behalf of the line stating they only want to be remembered for being the hardest workers. "

When Dez guarantees a win prior to a game by saying "come celebrate with me at my private mansion party after we get this win", that's talking (note: I attended the party and in all fairness, Dez was completely dejected because of the loss despite it being his birthday)

When you say "see you in February", it's talking

When you consistently say "we run the east" after a loss and you're 2-5, that's talking.

Trust me when I say I pray I'm wrong. I spend 1300 twice a year attending cowboys games and usually spend equally as much on Cowboys merchandise during the season. But from past experiences, minus the 2007 season where Crayton talked all year, the Cowboys generally are at their best when they aren't talking i.e. 2009 after losing TO and proving they didn't need him, 2014 with the "play together, stay together" motto and wanting to prove they could win in December, and this past year.

Saying things like "we're the only team that can beAt Atlanta" while your at the Pro Bowl just seems silly to me.

It's actually really helpful when somebody criticizes the team that they point out what they're referring to. Much of this, you're right I'd just say we have a different definition of what talking is. I consider most of those examples to just be things athletes say in the course of an offseason. I do agree that the "see you in February" comment would qualify as talking. I didn't see the Atlanta comment, so I don't know the context, but I'd consider that talking a bit, too.

Even "see you in February" could've been said in jest. Brady smiled as he walked away. Romo was being humorously optimistic. That's not "talking" to me.

Honestly what Dak stated was clearly for fun but Dez on the other hand was being serious.

The 2014 team did not talk at all in the off season or even during the year. If there was any talking it was about speaking how special the team was and how they love to play for one another.

The most talking the 2014 team did was when Dez went off after the Chicago game and stated how the media always bring up the boys record in December.

I meant to say going into the 2015 season.

Anyways, I don't know the context of Dez's comment. Regardless, I hope he does think that they would've beat Atlanta. If he was asked "How do you think you would've faired against Atlanta" and his response was "Wel Green Bay beat us so we would've lost". I would've been disappointed.

Dez will never be perfect behind a microphone though. Without even reading the article I posted, I knew that it was probably just click bait. When you see the setup of the interview, that's all it is.

This isn't a headline. Did anyone actually watch this video or see the off site that this is posted on?

I don't think anyone did. He was interviewing with someone from another country that looked like a fan. This is posted on an off site. He was having fun. Nobody is covering this.

Geez this is supposed to be a fun post. I am convinced nobody watched the video.

Dak was asked who would win the Super Bowl. He praised Brady and said nobody beats Brady...after walking away he said "except me" jokingly.
What headlines has Dak made other than for his stellar play?

I wasn't complaining about what he did.

I'm inclined to take Dak's comment with a grain of salt -- it could easily be interpreted as a tongue-in-cheek remark but even if it wasn't, I wouldn't really consider a cocky comment to be a mortal sin. NFL players are routinely confident and sometimes even cocky -- that doesn't make them a lesser human being by a longshot. Let's keep it real, here, folks -- Dak is well respected by his peers. As fans, why the hell would we do less?

I don't know, if he could beat Brady or not, but he is on a three game losing streak, even though he didn't finish the philly game and the pro bowl, he did start and the teams lost

Reminds me of Romo telling Brady, see you at the Super Bowl and Cowboys missed playoffs.

It's nothing new because the printed word has been around a long time but without the context of tone it's hard to judge the intent of words.

Threads like this are why players and coaches don't say anything now. An innocent playful comment and fans and media ready to rip him apart and start quoting his season accomplishments. I guess you would rather he copy and pasted the same lame robotic QB speak to appease you and say "Tom is a great competitor and I look forward to playing him" Give me a freaking break.

Anything to reach to disrespect the guy.

I completely underestimated the reaction to this thread. I never thought a 4th round pick who came in and saved our season and put up the best rookie year in history would be so divisive. He did it with class too.

That was literally the dumbest post I ever seen and if that is a Cowboys fan, they should really consider their options next season.
