Sounds good to me.

I think Dez is amazing. I don't want to get rid of him.. But if you're going to keep Jason Garrett than you gotta have a darn near perfect team and spending 15 mill on a WR that doesn't get the ball is nothing but a waste.

This is what people don't seem to get. Good teams don't overspend on resources that the scheme doesn't require. If Garrett's scheme isn't built on having a Dez-type receiver, then you either get rid of Dez or get rid of the scheme. Otherwise your salary cap is always going to be out of whack.

Antonio Brown was targeted almost 200 times last year. You think defenses aren't trying to stop him?

The Steelers find a way to get him the ball, regardless of what defenses do.

Dez is not in that class. Doesn't have Brown's speed, his mind, or his route-running ability.

I agree.

But I do believe he is good enough to make the effort to find ways to get him the ball.

Dez is a playmaker and he is being paid like one. So let's help him make plays.

Since we are on the subject instead of opening a new thread, ill ask here. Will Dez continue to line up on the right {mostly}and match up against Norman all afternoon?

Think of the things we do best offensively.

1. Running the ball which involves more imposing your will than actual scheme.

2. Romo running around and making a play outside of the scheme.

3. Dez jumping up over people and making a play.

What on earth kind of football is that?

Absolutely. But I'm glad Dak doesn't seem to be the kind of QB that can get bullied into throwing the ball to someone. Forcing it to Dez is a bad idea.

Dallas just needs to run the ball better this week. That'll fix a lot right there for everybody.

Your right man! We almost ruined Miles Austin here by not using him correctly. Look how his career took off after he left.

This has to be sarcasm?
And if by "took off" you mean like took off like Alvin Harpers did yes you are correct.

Pittsburgh moved Brown to get him away from Norman. And he destroyed Breeland.

I'd like to see Dez do the same thing.

Sandlot football! Running the ball and trying to impose your will is fine but there has to be a mid to deep passing game.

That's not even counting the fact that this scheme, by design, increases the likelihood of Romo taking hits and getting injured. Look at how Belichick has altered the NE offensive scheme to include quicker drops and minimize the amount of exposure to the pass rush Brady faces.

I'm all in favor of a better run game.

But you need to compliment that with at least the threat of a vertical passing game. And Dez is the best we have. One catch for 8 yards isn't going to win a lot of games, even with a strong running game. Which, by the way, can be shut down. As we clearly saw last week.

I like the feel of that, he's the leader and respects Dez's talent but is establishing his territory. Easy for a young QB to get "worked" by an experienced WR.

If y'all remember the first time Romo played with Keyshawn, it took some time and trust to work with a throw open receiver and Keyshawn even commented on that. Dak has not worked with a receiver like Dez before and this will take some time but when it does happen, they'll be referred to like the most well endowed waitress at Hooter's, the Double D's.

It was dumb when you posted it in the other thread. Still dumb here.

Trading Dez does not help our offense. Period.

Our coaches start Williams over Butler. Our FO thinks Swaim and Wilcox are good enough to have roster spots. What makes you think if we traded Dez, we would get an actual talent to replace him with?

It's not 1 game.

We've got yeeeeeeeaaaaars of this to go off of.

It's Jason Garretts Philosophy to play this way.

He did it with TO, Miles, and now Dez.

Watch any top NFL WR and you will not see them being used like Dez get used.
What I'm being to wonder is if Dez is just limited in what he can do.

He basically runs like 3 routes depending on down and distance and position on the field.

A quick slant across mid depth

A quick fade to the back corner of the end zone

and a curl or curl and go.

That's not to hard to read the tendencies.

Does he run any other routes?

Does he play from any other position on the field?

I wonder why?

We talk about the same thing every year. Dez doesn't get used right and we have no defense. Every year it's the same damn thing.

Dez never goes in motion, Dez is never in the slot, Dez never runs a crossing route, Dez never runs slants. Nothing will change....
