Having decent players does not equal a decent team. The only consistency was in the passing offense. How many years did the D lead the league in turnovers or the running back lead the league? Oline gets drafted in the 1st round pretty much every year at this point. Then come playoff time the offense is lucky to cross the 50. The QBs aren’t remotely close talentwise or situation and the criticism is more than warranted.
Ok....if that's what you want to believe. We can stay subjective. But if you want to be objective....both QBs have/had the weight on their shoulders, and we got fascinated with shootouts followed by late interceptions or close games with game changing interceptions (excluding the games we weren't heavily favored or playoffs). And Jerry hasn't provided either QB with a HC to bring balance.....outside of the Dak/Zeke combo early rookie contract years.....and the Romo/Murray year. Garrett (mediocre).....McCarthy (became pass happy with KMoore and since)

I.E.....we've been snake-bitten for years.....look up at the owner's suite.

Fans couldn’t wait to get rid of McCarthy a few weeks ago and now after a couple of wins against struggling teams that haven’t won in weeks, fans are wanting him back.
Talk about misreading the room. Nothing has changed.

McCarthy should have been fired and surviving that needs fired on Black Monday.

McCarthy could win out, make the playoffs, win a game and should still be fired. He has been an epic failure.

I wouldn’t go as far as to say he’s been an epic failure but he has failed. However, we did go 12-5 three straight seasons. We made the playoffs three straight seasons for the first time since the 90s and did win a playoff game. Definitely not what we were hoping for when he was hired but not terrible.

unfortunatley MM like alot of the players is gonna get blasted for the 20 years before he got here, I dont think he should've been brought back this year myself but he certainly is not the worst thing Jerry has done in 29 years..

He definitely should have been fired after the playoff embarrassment. That was inexcusable.

He has accomplished nothing he was hired for.

He couldn't be more of an epic failure.

Clock management, play calling, situational football, player management, penalties....just a few things he has failed a.

This might not be such a hard decision if this FO hadn't botched the negotiations with Dak to the extent that they did. As it now stands making that decision becomes one that isn't really that difficult. That's not to say that Rush is necessarily better than Dak.

The expense incurred with Dak is a harder one to swallow than other possible expenditures that might have been made, otherwise. Much needed talents were ignored, due to the exorbitant cost of retaining Dak. Otherwise, the FO might have seen fit to welcome Derrick Henry into the fold, when he was readily available.

On the other hand, one must wonder if both deserve to remain with the team, rather than just one. The FO might easily opt to rid us of both. What is to force one to be chosen without the riddance of the other? The FO will quite likely make such a decision for us. In any event, we're simply mere witnesses, rather than being actual participants.

I don't get it. If you don't like it here, why the hell are you here? That is all you do is cry about the fans!

Go start your own forum where you can get rid of the fans you don't like and stop acting like a damn 12 year old brat!
Have you noticed that he occasionally plays both sides?

Dak would likely welcome a trade if one were even possible with that contract. As of now, he has to be back next season. McCarthy has probably already removed personal items from his office. My guess is he looks forward to leaving. The Dallas Cowboys are not the kind of franchise players and coaches want to be part of at this time.

Pick either one. It makes no difference.

I can easily imagine plenty of Cowboys fans who would choose suffering a few more years of Mike McCarthy if it meant getting rid of Dak Prescott. Are there any fans out there that would choose the opposite?
MM isn't going to succeed here because the world's worst contract extension has doomed this team's immediate future. It was the perfect time to move on but Jerry has no feel for these things, he's addled and ignorant and now he's cap strapped with holes at every position group. I

How is Jerry cap-strapped? From Dak's contract?....From Cee Dee's contract?....from both? How?.....there's cap space. I get it if you just don't like Dak being paid, but to say cap-strapped. Jerry fooling a lot of people.

Prescott. We've seen over the past 30 years that the QB is not the major issue here, the management is. I don't hold that against McCarthy, because the Joneses are the problem, but in the salary cap age, a coach needs to reach the Super Bowl within five years or needs to be gone. McCarthy is at the end of that rope, and I believe the only way to win with the Joneses in charge is with a coach they respect enough to follow his lead.

A new coach with override authority could draft a QB and bench Dak if he felt it was for the best of the team. McCarthy has to accept whatever the Joneses throw at him. Of course, that's also why the Joneses are more likely to stick with McCarthy instead of hiring a Belichick or someone who demands respect.
