If you're referring to the 2016 season finale___Mark Sanchez replaced Romo at quarterback after the Cowboys went ahead; he was the QB the rest of the way.
Prescott never returned to game after Romo replaced him in the first half.
TY for the correction. That was a slap in the face to Romo IMO. They didnt want him to succeed IMO.

After all of these years (7), I'm still not clear on who was the inducing party that spoke up first to not reinstate Romo as the starter. Was it___
- The Team
- Garrett
- Stephen
- Jones

I would say Jones. When a boss/manager hires a bad employee, they sometimes are hesitant to let them go because it will show they made a bad hiring decision but JJ is also a sucker for a well spoken convincing Yes Man .

But as the season went along as Romo was recovering, I recall Jerry was the one person stating initially he was back in the starting role once he was off IR and began practicing.
Then we he started waffling - I was thinking Garrett and Stephen were stepping in to voice their opinion to keep Prescott as the starter - they twisted Jerry's arm to agree.

Many call it a neanderthal game right now.

That said Romo running in a preseason game that means absolutely nothing after having back surgery definitely qualifies him for the short bus
I agree that was dumb as hell.

Don't cherry pick 3 games romo's best season he had 34 touchdowns nine interceptions
How many touchdowns does Dak have right now and how many interceptions.

What would really happen Romo would have 24 points and throw some horrible interception at the worst possible time that we couldn't overcome and our opponents would drive down and get a field goal and win 27-24.

Romo was a risk taker and a heartbreaker. But not a game breaker.
Can you imagine how many touchdowns Romo would have this year on this team with these rules?

He would have all of Dak's, plus 90% of the ones Dak missed on.

This thread is hilarious lol. Just 30 pages of people going back and forth about 2 really good NFL QB's and making it sound like one is infinitely better than the other when in reality it's splitting hairs.

You know I love Tony as a person I think he's the best announcer on television I loved it when he took over for bledsoe I was his biggest fan for such a long time.

And you're right he would have a ton of touchdowns this year right up until the time that he refused to give up on the play and got smashed by somebody like Aaron Donald and was left laying in the fetal position.

The dude just flat out love to throw the football and he was good at it but he needed to know when to say when and he was just bound and bent he was going to throw it no matter what and try and complete the pass.

When in the words of Bill parcells throwing it away sometimes is a really good thing.
Now you may not be on the highlight reel throwing it away but it could also save you from being on the blooper reel and on the stretcher.
In all seriousness I believe Tony could have realized his potential if he developed a better sense of risk versus reward and discipline himself to throw the ball away once in awhile and live to fight another play

If Romo played for the Chiefs would he have more touchdowns than Mahomes?

I think a lot of these guys are trolling especially the ones using the “do you know how many touchdowns he’d have in this offense” like it’s ran by Andy Reid or Sean McVey lol.

I was a bigger Romo fan than I ever was a Dak fan. But after sitting back objectively I'd rather have dak. Romo is smart but he's a beta and a trash leader with trash work ethic. He has more throwing talent than Dak but I'll take Daks intangibles, mobility, intelligence (he's smart too) over Romo. Romo let multiple teams crumble. Basically garrett took over the leadership from 2011 because Romo couldn't handle it. Jason hatcher admitted this. Romo mentally weak
that is pure nonsense
just complete horse crap
Mind blowingly dumb and wrong on all accounts

No one holds those 8-8 years against Romo though lol. It's the 2014 and 2007 years that's the issue.
Hows 2014 the issue?
He became the first QB in NFL history to lead the leage in passer rating in BOTH regular season and playoffs.

The only incomplete pass the entire 2nd half at Green Bay was the Dez tragedy.

The defense was rated below middle oft he pack that year, btw, …

In hindsight, this was the ONLY REALISTIC CHANCE for Romo era to win a Superbowl.....with Parcells

And there will be another one of these in the near future...probably during the Cowboys' playoff run.

He had Zeke for all his best years!
Romo had 1 year his whole career with truly great RB play
BS, he's better now. And Romo couldn't stay on the field. He could have had Elliott.

It's not "splitting hairs".

What you are confusing is team results versus player results.

If you think Romo and Dak are the same QB yer nuts.

Read the thread title again. This isn't about what team lost in the playoffs again.

Give Romo Lamb and Cooks instead of Patrick Crayton and Roy Williams

He played one damn game in the playoffs lol:…and when are we going to admit there was a easier throw to make then that one he threw to Dez on 4th down?
