I try to not obsess with 2016 season, it's in the past. But oh what could have been.

The thing about 2016 Dak...is he played well enough to FINALLY let Romo heal up. Usually Romo played hurt or came back too soon. Which leads to....injury. Romo was "injury prone" because he would never sit. And the coaches LOVE to abuse our injured players (see Zeke).

People love to say "romo would have just gotten injured again anyway". Well...casually ignoring the fact that Dak provided no rush and he was truly healed by months. How convenient to ignore these facts.

So as mentioned....you don't think it's odd that Romo was pulled PROMPTLY after a surgical drive for a score? Yes but of COURSE that is very odd.

"but he didn't do anything that drive"...Romo haters say. Well...much like Dak....he didn't HAVE to! Run the team run the offense take what the D gives you. It was still expertly called and run.

SO in the playoffs Dak's magic faded out a bit. Maybe a savvy HEALTHY vet could have done things differently.

So having said all that...2024! Dak has improved in several aspects Now is the time to put all this to rest, right? So let's see it Dak. The crown awaits you!

Tony romo's career was like the cow that gave a full bucket of milk and then kicked it over.

Dak still has time and enough career left to make his place in cowboy history best yet it could happen this year.

Go Dak bring us home!!!!
You beat me to it.
Here...we....GOOOO!

He played one damn game in the playoffs lol:…and when are we going to admit there was a easier throw to make then that one he threw to Dez on 4th down?
No, Marathon.....
He played 2 games that year.
Game-winning drive to win vs 2nd rated defense in the league, then a close loss at Green Bay

Idk why you bother w Royce. He was one of the biggest Romo homers on this board when he was the starter.

Romo hating became his schtick because of all the anti-Dak posters on here

Dak. Dak is a better football player and leader than Romo ever was.

Where Romo failed is he wasn't a good leader. He cared more about golf than he did the NFL. Dak's #1 priority is football. It's why Dak was able to lead this team in 2016....soon as he stepped on that field these guys gravitated to him and it's why they never went back to Romo and why he essentially retired Romo.

If Romo couldn't win in 2014 he was never gonna win with this organization.
Injuries retired Romo...A healthy Romo would have beat Dak out in training camp...

Romo wasn't gonna make it through a game
See what i mean? So casually ignore Romo's finally getting enough time to fully heal.

And all for laughs.

Romo probably surprised you he made it through one surgical strike drive, I bet...right?

I suppose ifi I were 2016 Dak I;'d been happy to just hand it off to zeke time after time to and avoid all these scrambles Tony had to do.

I wonder how Tony would have done just handing it off to zeke. I suppose you thyink doing THAT would have bortken his back....I bet, right?

Haters...good lord. Hate makes people insane. Illogical.

Romo was healthy when Cowboys fired him. You don't perform a drive like that and get canned ...

The real reason romo got fired was Vegas superstition. Jerry even admitted it..."don;t mess with a win streak".

Like...wut? operating the most valuable sports team in the world by way of....luck?

We got exactly what we deserved. NOTHING.

That Russell Wilson would be a winning proposition for this team lol.
At half the price I said. Check Russ stats this year. Pretty comparable to Dak in ypa, completion percentage. 26 TD to 32 but with significantly less attempts

And its not like he has a weapon like Lamb to work with in Denver

If you'd rather pay double for nearly identical production I guess that's a peculiar position but be my guest

Id rather take that $30 million savings and invest it in an area that could put this team over the top. But, I'm a cowboys over dak fan so perhaps I'm not looking at this right

It already is one of the best offenses in the league. I can't believe this thread still going

Romo didn't get fired.

He just asked that they give him a fair shot to compete for the job and they basically said no. He could stay but it would be in a different role

You’re right. I forgot we played Detroit that. His stats were pedestrian against the Packers.

It’s not nearly identical production….your point is moot. You’re arguing your rather have Russ at 30 million dollar savings? Russ is not gonna make 30 million less than Dak lol.
If you think Dak and Russ play is similar you need to stop box score watching. Why do you think the Broncos are trying to move on?
