Dak Pass Chart vs Bucs

Who said he was top 5?
When people compare Dak's stats to Brees, Rodgers, Brady, and Wilson to show he is an elite passer just like them that's what they are saying. It happened in this very thread with someone pointing to Brady's comparable stats to suggest what looks bad actually isn't bad.

That’s not what they mean when they compare his stats lol. You are reaching to have something to latch on to. No one has ever insinuated Dak was top 5.

Just the best Cowboys QB I guess since he has the highest passer completion in Cowboys history. It's thread after thread of some random stat that compares Dak to elite QBs to try to make a case he's an established franchise QB.

I'm not the one reaching for things to hold on to.

Great as Romo was, only time he had a winning season was when he had a descent OL and run game. He went 8-8 three seasons in a row when he didn't have a OL and a run game.

Almost all QBs need a good OL and a run game to do well. People spewing garbage about Dak needs Zeke and OL to win have no clue on how football is played.
How do you think Goff would do without Gurley and having Chaz Green as his LT?

Well, if you're going to follow my theory and crunch the numbers then you'll double the numbers and its 40 completions for 322 yds .

Let's face it, he just didn't pass much in a game we won.

Now, to be sure I have criticisms for Prescott's play. I'm not a hater nor am I wearing blue tinted shades when examining his play. He needs to improve. But, be sure and know that the rest of the league has the book on Linehan along with Dak.
And how many attempts to get to 40 completions?

This is more of a scheme issue than a player issue, if you want to attack someone linehan
Yep! somebody that gets it...they want to control the ball and TOP! Its by design...don't like it but it is what it is!

So I guess you're OK having a bottom 5 passing attack representing America's team......Answer me this ? .....Should the Cowboys be looking to replace Dak come this spring?

Your last sentence is the reason why Dak’s stats are compared to the best. It isn’t done in an attempt to claim he is Top 5. It is done to argue against the claims he is nothing but a terrible QB. It’s to fight against some actual claims like “he is the worst QB in the leagie”, “does nothing but dink and dunk”, “can’t throw accurate 5 yards downfield”, etc.

The over-the-top criticism of everything Dak does stems most of the Dak support, except for a handful of posters. And some of those are probably doing to just to spite the utter nonsense that is spewed in every single thread. Sort of like me picking Zeke and criticizing everything he does now so he isn’t exempt from being a target, because he is supposed to be the star on our dreadful offense and shouldn’t get a free pass.

Dynamite response, good take.

So to your point, what’s our record in 2015 if we had Dak? Or alternatively, our record in 2016 without Zeke?
We could both get out arbitrary answers to both and neither would know if it's correct.

What I will say is that the wins added with Dak in 2015 would far outweigh the wins lost in 2016 without Zeke. And McFadden was no slouch for us. Slightly upgrade from McFadden behind that Oline and we're cooking with oil in 2015.

People thinking that wins above replacement for RBs are anywhere close to WAR for QBs haven't studied the data at all.

Which is a pretty good point. Dak is conservative in protecting the ball. That's not the worst thing in the world, especially when you've got a good defense.
Yeah, he protects it well enough to fumble every other sack. We need to rename the team the Dallas Greyhounds and let Dak drive us.

Should the Cowboys be looking to replace Dak come this spring?

The answer depends on the available options.

What can happen immediately is replacing the OC and QB coach, but if you know of a future HOF QB who is on the market in 2019 let us know.

Dak was 20 for 25 so the math adds up to 50. That would be 40 of 50 for 322. That comes out to 8.05 yds/ completion. I think we could all live with that.

Can you see me ? (reference to your screen name/Avatar)

Unfortunately, nobody cares about yards per completion. It's yards per attempt that is the obvious important metric. If you had a QB that had a 50 yards completion but missed on his other 19 throws....so...1/20 for 50 yards. What's more relevant....50 yds/completion or 2.5 yds/attempt?

Anyhow 40/50 for 322 is 6.44 yards/attempt. If that were a full season Dak would rank 31st in the NFl ahead of only Josh Rosen and Josh Allen.

So no I can't live with 40/50 for 322. Because that'd be awful. just like 20 for 25 and 161 is bad.

I mean I don’t know what to say. If you can’t decipher between when someone is comparing a player to comparing their stats? I have no idea what to say.

It would depend on what he does in the post season. It’s not about what I want. You have to be smart about the salary cap. I’d you have Dak for cheap......you can build a better team as opposed to paying someone like Flacco for 25 million. But this team is going to let Dak play out his contract. They would be foolish not to do so.
