If we were to get beaten badly, it means you got bludgeoned by your two primary opponents for NFC supremacy.

There would be no reason the team or fans should have any confidence in different results in the playoffs. So, yes, this is huge. Need to beat one of the big dogs to show you are in there league. Convincingly would be nice. Then you can worry about trying to figure out how to beat the other in case you see them again.

One thing to note, and this is probably a jinx, according to the local news up here, in 5 starts at the Linc, Dak has 7 TDs and zero interceptions. Now he's had some mediocre games up there, such as the one for the playoffs when his shoulder was banged up but he's never really played terrible in Philly. Hopefully the trend continues. If he plays well, we have a great shot at a W assuming something else doesn't go horribly wrong.

I've been hard on Dak this year but this is non-sense. Dak is a top 15 QB. A QB in that range is going to need the team to help him. This is more of a team effort that includes the coaches also calling a good game. Dak can win the SB but he's going to need his team doing their jobs as well. You can't expect Dak to shoulder the team. That's left to the elite QB's of the league and there's less than a handful of those.

See, this is how you compare things you look at both parties not just one. By looking at these numbers we see over the 4 year period the OP stipulated we see the Cowboys have a much better winning percentage in games where they are underdogs vs the Eagles.

See how this makes the story more equitable to discuss vs just pulling a stat for one QB which is actually a team stat not QB stat?

Simple, the point was this is how one team & one QB has fared. Secondly, Hurts hasn't been the starter for 4 years so comparing over that span doesn't compare the QB's anyway.

It really is as simple as saying this team and QB has faltered in weeks they weren't believed to be the better team. Something that is talked about openly on this forum all the time yet when it's framed as Dak needs to show he can be a difference maker, somehow it's confusing & unfair. Every other QB get's these same stats thrown at them. Nothing new.

The reason the Cowboys, not just Dak, don’t win big games is they are seldom built or coached like elite teams.

You can’t have one side of the ball deficient or one of the lines getting manhandled. So many times in the last 12 or so years with Garrett and maybe now Mike we don’t stack up on the line of scrimmage to the other elite teams or have the overall balance and depth needed to match them.

This then becomes a QB and coaching must win you the game situation. With our HC’s since Parcells we don’t have a competitive chance coach versus coach. Maybe staffs as a whole can compete but usually we are handily outclassed coaching wise.

So now it’s up to the QB to be amazing. Well neither Dak nor Romo nor anyone not named Brady or Mahomes can do that consistently let alone once. Your best hope with how the franchise is configured is that Dak and the O catch fire at the right time like Flacco and Manning did.

We are good enough to win a SB in a “lighting in a bottle” scenario. Not likely to do so in any other way though. That’s the reality of having a non elite HC/QB. Only maybe 2 franchises can claim they have that so it’s not anything to really get upset about. Just is what it is until we luck into a Mahomes.

We’re talking about this matchup. It is undeniable the Eagles have been far more successful overall, but the Cowboys seem to play them well.
