Lol...he doesn't offer much to cheer for? Let me ask you a question...have you ever played QB before? Or only watched it on tv? And I'm not being funny. I'm asking a serious question. Cause I've played it before and for you to say Dak doesn't offer much only makes me think that you've never played the position before. Dak is actually very good....not an Aaron Rodgers, but a good QB. To me...no one is an Aaron Rodgers. I like Aaron Rodgers better than Brady, even though Brady has more SBs. I just think he's a better QB. But I'm curious of your answer. It amazes me that some of you will criticize Dak even after a very good game and a WIN. When Rush was QB....he was the 2nd coming to many of you. And honestly....to me....he's ok. I would lean the needle to the bad side of the middle. So...I'm curious of your answer.
If you've played quarterback you should recognize the problem when Dak shuts down against tough teams and then pads his stats against loose defenses when the game is already lost. You should recognize errant throws to wide open receivers when the game is too big for him.
It's not like it hasn't happened a lot.
Yes, Ive played enough quarterback to know that the quarterback has to lead by being accurate and not choking when the tensions ride high.
Anybody can throw a football and they can even throw it a long way if they work at it.
But the mental part of the game is most important, and Dak doesn't have that.

You guys act like it's easy peazy to get to an NFC Championship game. Lol...newsflash, there are 15 other teams trying to get to it, also. There needs to be talent, skill, cohesiveness, chemistry and luck on all levels, GM, coaches, offense, defense and special teams. It has to click and it has to click at the right moment. Jerry's rich off of you too. You watch the game on tv? TV revenue. You have a jersey, hat, or anything else Cowboys? Revenue. You go to the game? Revenue. So, why not root for the team you're spending money with?

It's not us that acts like easy peasy get to NFC Champinship game. its the people who are short sighted and happy with minor wins when others see problems. Case in point, last year when a big measuring stick game came up, many of us pointed out that despite the wins, this team was not playoff ready. Some people on here, we beat a bad team and they act like this team won a superbowl.

As it stands, Prescott had a very good first week back. He was inside the top six in both EPA/play and completion percentage over expectation (CPOE) and his QBR was just outside the top ten. Prescott also completed 76% of his passes despite leading the league in intended air yards and throwing into tight windows at the second highest rate this week. It’s wise not to overreact to one game, but this certainly looked like the Prescott fans are used to seeing.

Anyone who was impressed with Dak’s play last weekend is very easily impressed.

Maybe, but the OC is the same and supporting cast are very comparable outside of WR. Same RBs. McGovern over Williams seems to be a wash. Smith over Smith may be a downgrade, but Tyler has played admirably..doesn't seem like Tyron would make a 10 pt difference at this point in his career. Difficult to not question the FO's decisions at wideout this off-season.

Truthfully, I don't care about PPG. I just want to see the offense do enough to win games. They did this against Detroit, and I'm not knocking Dak for that game by any means. He got the job done. Proud of him, seriously. He just has a not so impressive track record (historically and recently) without being surrounded by an all-world supporting cast and I worry that he won't come back around as the guy we saw at the start of last season, and throughout Amari Cooper's tenure on Dallas. Given the amount of cap space he takes up, this is concerning short and long term. I hope he proves me wrong. Wouldn't be the first time he did.

Good points, but Aikman had plenty of those 220 yard games, and he had Emmitt and Irvin, that OL and defense—that team had balance! Not comparing the two (I’d take Troy over Dak any day), but I’m just sayin’.

I'm with you, bud. As it stands, I'm more than content to roll with the current formula. We absolutely need to be running the ball early and often and keep the killers on defense fresh. I just worry about what will happen if he is forced to air it out and play those 400 yd, 5td type games. If he can handle it, I'll shut up and leave it alone. Hope that's the case.

I have played it before. Dak does have the mental game. Throwing a football and playing QB is two different things. Dak has one of the highest completion percentages in the NFL in 2021. And since you've played QB, you should know that throwing to a receiver in an area that ONLY he can catch is the goal of a QB. Again....last year, he was top 10 in completions...I believe 4th. And in the top 10 in ypa. Top 10 in the fewest ints. To go along with 37 tds. Ummm....I don't know that you do that without the mental part. I don't know that you do that without being accurate. EVERY single QB overthrows wide open receivers in games period! Doesn't matter if they are big or not. You claim to have played QB....you should know this.

Hell....many was acting like we won the SB when we were winning with Rush as QB. Every game we won was like the SB to most. But when Dak is QB when we win...there's always something wrong. I"ve played and I've coached...not at the NFL level, but I know the game and the position. He's a very good QB. When we won with Rush, it was....doesn't matter....it's a win. A win is a win. When Dak win, it's an entire different topic....and usually negative. And most never played the game let alone the position, but try to say what he's doing wrong....lol. It's comical. It's obviously not his play that people are really upset about. I'm waiting to see who's brave enough to really address THEIR elephant in the room.

When he makes those throws repeatedly agaist tough teams, when the game or even the season is on the line, that's choking. And it has happened a lot with him.
It doesn't take much poise to stand behind the best offensive line in the NFL, like he did in 2016, and pick out a receiver.
But since then he has showed very little poise when the games get too big for him. Skyler Murray made him look bad last year, and then the 49'ers did, too. The East was weak, and so was the Cowboys schedule. But when he had to face tough teams, he folded.

I totally disagree with this. The last time Dak had the best o-line was a few years ago. Probably when he was a rookie or sophomore. But the o-line was not that good last year. To say that Murray made him look bad.....bro, it's a team thing. No on is saying anything about when Dak went into Green Bay and beat them. Then, if I'm not mistaken the next week he beat Pittsburgh. So, some of you that say Dak can't beat good teams....are wrong. And besides...it takes a team to WIN a championship. The 49ers had the better team....period.

What a thread. lol. Dak is our QB for awhile so we must get used to it, however...

There is a thought that those who laugh loudest laugh last. The more Dak get praised and does not meet that praise the more it is going to hurt his fans that prop him up so hard.

The posters that think he is not the one that can bring the Boyz a SB will also be ashamed for not believing he will. My opinion is that I'm not convinced he will or can, but that is just me. However...I do believe in this team and always will, I mean, lol, it's been this long!

One thing about this game is that it is not static, it does not always stay the same. It is dynamic, meaning it changes from day to day, hour to hour, minute by minute second to second. What the team or QB did good in the past does not mean a thing going forward. The stats are just fluff, the media, the coaches, players all have their opinion and that is good, but it does not mean a thing in the grand scheme of things....just fluff.

There is no right or wrong, there is no black or white, it's just a gray area for now because the future has not happened.

Carry on with this thread, I learn lots of stuff about our fans. Lots of right fighters! lol. Time for some gitfiddle...and a hit of devils weed, the band is coming over for some music practice.

(by the way, i posted one of our blues songs on this forum and reality kicked me to the curb for a week!...lol). Must have made him mad.
Great post, I believe the majority of Cowboy fans feel the same and just aren't as vocal about it.

Where did you post your song? Huge SRV fan from many, many years ago. I probably have a half dozen different versions of Texas Flood from bootleg albums.

Love me some SRV! I have a few songs on Youtube but they are only examples of songs I try to write. But, I cannot post the link here because the last time I did Reality got pissed at me and benched me for a week! Don't know why his panties got all ruffled up for some reason.

Dang, that's harsh! Thought Reality was more chill than that.

Send me a message and direct me to your stuff, I'll give it a listen when I have a few minutes.
