Come on man. The odds that this offense will reach the heights that it reached last year without Cooper are quite low. The game seems to be too big for these guys at present. The offense is avg...in minus territory according to FootballOutsiders, when it was running in the 20s last year. Cooper did resurrect Prescott...otherwise why would you give away a number one draft pick for a struggling quarterback?Amari Cooper "resurrected" Dak Prescott? You mean Dak Prescott who resurrected Amari Cooper. Cooper's best season came under Dak Prescott, not Derek Carr or any of the current Browns' QBs. Why hasn't Amari Cooper "resurrected" Jacobi Brissett in Cleveland? Amari is the Browns #1 receiver, yet he's averaging a paltry 60 yards receiving per game. Yuck! What's happened to the great Amari Cooper who supposedly "resurrected" Dak Prescott???
In 2018 he was averaging just 183 yds/gm over the first seven games (before they acquired Cooper at 3-4), with just two games over 200 yds (231 and 250). Dallas at the time was ranked 29th in passing yards. The Cowboys would not have made the playoffs without Cooper in 2018. Moreover the consequences for Prescotts' future contract would probably have been negative.
The chemistry was the thing...and now you simply don't have it. The swagger was the thing...and now you simply don't have it. Arguably the leagues' top offense was the thing...and now you simply don't have it. We saw the same thing after they let go Owens and Bryant. The following year the offense waned. Now...after Cooper, we are seeing the same...damn...thing...which is why you hear all the rumors about Dallas bringing in a WR before November 1.
Cooper is 20th ranked by FootballOutsiders at present. Cee Dee Lamb? 47th...and he is the highest ranked Dallas receiver seven games in.
