Dak Prescott has built a relationship with Cowboys coaching staff

Yep. The old Kavika Pittman we out smarted everybody war room celebration.

It's perfect too. See, he needs years to get ready and we got years with Romo.

Fist bump.....

Yep. Afterwards they will try to sell us that half a dozen teams were ready to pounce and called us to tell us what a steal we got. Pretty sure they used that one on Matt Johnson

Sometimes I've found some really good deals at Kohl's on the clearance rack, so I'm hoping this will be the same.

But do you ever get the clothes home and realize it would have been so much better to buy something a little higher quality?

Like, oh...the zipper falls down just from sitting and standing a couple times, and the inseam area makes me look like I'm really excited, and I look club-footed because one pants leg is slightly longer than the other.

He looks like a 4th rounder to me right now. Comp 4th given the DUI. Of we do draft a QB at 4, I can see him being a Kurt Cousins " hedge your bets" type pick

That's where I think he belongs, too. I could see us move around with those middle picks to get him, but it would be moving up a handful of picks kind of thing rather than taking him a round too early. Hopefully.

Wentz can play, quite obvious

Dak can play as well..... The level of competition was the only difference week in week out vs Wentz

Don't get the hate on Dak

If you go by prototype tangibles.... The kid from WKU is a home run

Agreed. He outshown Wentz at the Senior Bowl.

Go ahead and get the Prescott jerseys made...I'd be shocked if he isn't a Cowboy

Doughty does look interesting if we don't get the QB at 4 where we should.

In the 4th round or later, I don't care. But the last thing I want us to do is pass on QB in the first round and then use a high 2nd or 3rd rounder on a lower rated QB, especially not someone like Dak.

If anyone can screw up a golden opportunity in this draft it'd be Jerry.

You just know Jerry and co. are thinking that if a top 4 pick will have to sit and wait then might as well draft an immediate starter at 4 and then find a QB in the 2nd or 3rd round who can sit and wait instead of a first rounder. Only problem is anyone we take at that point won't be nearly as talented as Wentz or Goff. But no doubt there will be high-fives all round.

STRENGTHS: Scouts are most impressed with his development above the neck, showing above average awareness as a passer, recognizing things quickly and working through his progressions to easily load and fire.

Displays an ability to use his eyes and hold defenders and has a quick memory to move on from mistakes and not let the negative plays linger. Overall, he has a much more natural feel in the passing game than in 2013 and appears in complete control of that offense.

When he does step into his throws, Prescott can deliver strikes. He's a very dangerous runner, combining aggression, agility and the power to break arm tackles.

WEAKNESSES: Work in progress as a passer but has a live arm and good field vision. His footwork is inconsistent and he loses accuracy when his feet are not set.

Tends to predetermine some throws and relies on a lot of back shoulder patterns, something that got him in trouble against Auburn and Alabama. Has not shown the consistency to lead his team through the air in tough road environments when the ground game is shut down.

COMPARES TO: Tim Tebow, ex-Broncos, Jets, Patriots - It is the natural comparison, beyond just the connection to Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen, who was Florida's offensive coordinator when Tebow was in Gainesville. Although Prescott has a slightly better arm and more consistent mechanics, he and Tebow grade similar in several categories, including composure, mobility, power and leadership.

Right. It's perfect. He can sit for 4 or 5 years while Romo's having his not a damn debate end to his career. Get coached up by Wade Wilson in the meantime.

It would be another case of getting cute with the position. Trying to out think ourselves. Dak Prescott is a vastly inferior pro prospect to Wentz or even Goff. He still has to learn to play quarterback, while the others simply need to learn to play it in on the pro level. It's a huge difference.

But this is probably the thinking. They can waste another top 5 pick on an irrelevant, impactless, who gives a bleep cornerback while using a mid round pick on a QB they can groom with their stellar coaching to maybe play one day. Who knows? Romo's got so many years left (debate) that who can possibly see that far down the road?
