I'll step up. In the past, I saw that Dak was regularly off a little on his throws. They would be high or a guy would have to reach behind them or break stride to catch the ball. I actually thought a fair number of the tipped ball interceptions were Dak's fault in past years.

The last few weeks have been the most accurate I have ever seen Dak. He is routinely hitting people right in stride, right in the hands.

I really don't know why the difference. Footwork? Was it the option routes under KM causing Dak to not know where the receiver was going to break? I'll stand by my thought that Dak's accuracy has noticeably improved over this stretch. I realize a lot will disagree with me.

I'm not seeing many of these throws this year

Stop saying "Stats dont matter" its the dumbest thing ever said.. here is a hint.. see how many points the offense scores ifDak has 0 stats..its literally a record of how the QB played...Say "Have good stats against top defenses" thats fine but "Sats dont matter" is literally dumb without the stats there would be no points and news flash POINTS DO MATTER..

Aikman was definitely a better quarterback than Dak will probably ever be.... with that said, that not really a fair comparison and here's why.....

Who had a better offensive line?? Aikman
Who had a better receiving corp?? Aikman
Who had a better running game/running back?? Aikman
Who had a better Head Coach?? Aikman
Who had a better overall coaching staff?? Aikman

If this isn't true, let me know which area Dak had better than Aikman on this list.
Im a big Aikman fan but I also love Dak. To be fair to Dak, he's played most of these "big" playoff games on the road. Not all, but most. Aikman had the benefit of playing for the best team of his era and usually had home field. He had only one true playoff road victory, the Alvin Harper/ "How bout them Cowboys" game in SF.

Why are you trying to root out an outlier? You're going to have people with an unhealthy love or hatred for a player. Dak is among the top QBs in the league because there aren't that many great QBs in the league. It's that simple. Do you think anyone cares how Dak looks against a wasted Giants team, or a 1-8 Panthers team? No. We care about how he looks against Buffalo, Miami, or when Philly comes to Dallas. That's what most level headed fans care about. They care about beating good opponents. That's how you win a championship. Not pointing out stats. No stats are going to tell you Dak is the best QB in the league when everyone can see otherwise.
You hit it right on here!

"we" spend so much time and resources crusading against such a very few people.

We have like 2-3 people that troll us about Dak sucks..... Yet SO MANY get unfairly lumped in with them and takes up precious conversation and board space.

How is asking Dak to perform well against the best, inspire the TEAM to also do that....a hater? Or needs special threads against so very few.

I will NEVER get it. But...I don't run it either so who cares.

He is extending plays more, its the most dangerous thing a QB can do, his accuracy on the run has always been pretty good. Lets hope it continues.

Stats do matter. The real problem is we use and abuse them how we please.

Stats are a marker....but they are not the final crowning achievement. An easy example is Marino. Total boss QB with sats...and no super bowl.

Nobody remembers anyone else on that team (okay barely remembers anyone else).

What REALLY matters...is a wins losses. These can come with stats, can be ugly. Can have ref help. I hate that our fans ragged on Rush for his noodle arm etc. But we WON games. Some hate that because Dak. Doesn;t change the facts.

Stats matter, with context and subject matter and discernment and NO AGENDAS.

...but the adage "lies, damn lies and stats" is totally true. See stats with some caution about what someone wants to prove.

I dont think anyone hates Rush(of course there could be some wierd people here that do), I dont think winning a SB in this era with no passing game is realistic. Same thing with Dak, if he and our passing game gets shut down in the divisional round our chances of winning go way south in this era...I think the stats showed that the last 2 niners playoff games.. our offense had horrible stats and it showed on the score board.

I will enjoy the season, stats and all. I will concern myself with the playoffs once they are here.
In spite of the past 27 years, I will still enjoy the seasons as they unfold.

I never paid attention to Aikman's stats. I was confident in him because I saw him play well in the biggest of games. Staubach, too.

Some folks seem to need to keep reassuring themselves with Dak's stats. Probably because we've seen him in the biggest of games.

I don't care about Dak's stats. He lights up bad teams - cool. Do it in the biggest of games and win them. Otherwise, I don't care.
:hammer:

The standard for some fans who remember Championships doesn't change, so don't get upset because we know pressure burst pipes. No shade on Dak, but he's shown that he folds in the Playoffs.

Problem is we had a 1st down on the 6 yard line and he couldn't lead us into the end zone for the W.

It's a pattern.
I dont know if its a "Dak" pattern its basically a fan base with 28 years of frustration pointing out certain failures and being able to say "See "HE" cant win the big game" when the only pattern spans multiple QB's for 28 years, the truth is Dak like Romo has won big games but we discount them because this franchise cant get over the hump so now its "We lose every big moment" and the QB gets the wrap even when clearly he was overcomming ridiculous prformances by others on the team...

We need the offensive line to show up in the playoffs. And not get their butts whipped by an opponent's front four.
yup want to know what the "Secret sauce" is between the last 28 years and the 90's "great QB play" is?...if you lined up 4 DL's on us and let it roll it was gonna roll right into your endzone....

That is true. But it starts with the quarterback on any team. For the Cowboys that is of course DAK. If he has a bad day, the rest of the team can't make it for it.
And if the rest of the team has a bad day DAK...can't make up for it.

I am glad you are not in control of the cowboys or any meaningful business endeavor.

Yes..I get as fans...we just "take whatever comes". we have no control over anything. Just rah and cheer. Fine.

But...our coaches and execs better DAMN well project our playoff map.

YES! The desperate pass to ceedee was ugly...but Dak extended the play and "threw" (okay blindly heaved it!) it to his best playmaker.

Very mahommes like. Beautiful.
LOL, that pass cracked me up. Who cares how bad it looked when the only player there to catch it was Lamb? Great pass IMO.
