Someone will be higher within months. That's just the way it goes. At least he only counts $23.5 million on the cap now.
trying to think of who is due. he might be king of the mountain for a bit. just a staggeringly bad process by dumb and dumber

Only a delusional Dak hater was trying to talk themsleves into Dak going somewhere into happening. Anyone that has a brain and listens to the actual words coming out of Jerry's mouth knew he was getting signed. Dak talking 2 days ago about why he wants to stay in Dallas was the final nail in that deal getting done. Hello, hello McFly, is anybody home in there?

There’s really not a worse front office when it comes to resigning players and negotiations

I think we could have easily saved money by not playing “hard ball” and signing him before some of the other deals were signed

We just constantly put ourselves in these positions and it always results in the player getting the money anyway…

Problem with dak is he’s slow now. Can’t run. Decent passer but not elite to make up for it. Not worth that contract and idiot owner and son rather be mediocre over going through rebuilding.

Look at that, 60.

Who could have guessed
This is what is the MOST lame to me. If they knew they were going to pay him, they could've just given him that in March and brought in a real RB and DT....This deal pretty much proves that the Jones family has no idea or cares what they are doing. They just want to be the main headline on gameday's.

If Dak has a great 2024 I expect Mike to be extended. If he doesn't expect the next HC to be an Offensive Coordinator in order to 'work with Dak'

And there s the million $ question everyone should be asking instead of this whiney bedwetter BS… in 2-3 years trade him for a 1st and 3rd to a train wreck and start over!
Cowboys are the only team that trades for trash. Maybe the Steelers.

Will have zero affect as this team won’t become fa spenders and continue to add low cost talent via the draft
That couldn’t be more correct, making this the right move. As a fan I don’t mind full rebuilds, but the rest of the roster doesn’t warrant it, and I don’t want these two handling anything like that. Letting him go meant that was the only logical choice. We will eventually end up there most likely, just not yet.

And what’s the alternative anyway? Signing a Mayfield type for 25-30 million and supposedly spend the rest on other players? No….they wouldn’t do it anyway. May as well take the good regular season and hope for the best come playoff time. (Yeah I know)

But man if this dude goes THIRTEEN seasons without even making and NFCCG and pocketed nearly a half BILLION….I mean wow, but very possible.
