You don't have a point. Cam Newton blows Dak away at this very same ability... but because of technicalities, you disingenuously present this fake record as something Newton could never do.
Cam Newton has seasons of:
21 passing, 14 rushing
24 passing, 6 rushing
22 passing, 6 rushing
35 passing, 10 rushing (MVP year)

But because these seasons didn't happen consecutively, Dak owns an imaginary record. Even though all of these seasons were better than or equal to Dak, sometimes greatly so.
You really don't know how records work

They are all technicalities ......consecutive matters..... ask Joe DiMaggio

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott went into the NFL record books today, having at least 20 touchdown passes and five rushing touchdowns in each of his first three seasons.

What makes the stat even more impressive is that no other quarterback in the history of the league has done this in consecutive seasons. Amazingly, Prescott has done it in all three of his NFL seasons.

Got to love it...hope he is nice to pets. He's growing up, waiting to snag or try to catch can some birds, coming flying in the house..where these Dallas Cowboys live...no more singing your name in the locker room.

Another made up meaningless stat that has no bearing for a qb without a single playoff win. Get some of those and stats like this start to add up and mean something.

It's not a record, it's trivia. Please point to the record in the official NFL record book if you can. If not, I assume you know where your rock is.

It's indicative of an apparent ability Dak has...if we're interpreting stats being reflective of his abilities.

His mobility and running ability is nothing to shake a stick at.

That's the point.
Exactly, and when the WRATH of Sky Box COMMAND started to stoke up the furnace & hit the bellows( obviously turning up the ambient room temperature of the Sideline General Field COMMAND STAFF),,,they " un-mucked their stuck hockey pucks"(so to speak) and drew up some gameplay plans of ATTACK , directly vectoring off of the #4's strengths of FOOTBALLISH GAMEPLAY,,, thusly, starting that 5 straight W's,,, :lmao:

* unfortunately it seems, SKY BOX COMMAND deemed it's
"Operation elavated Fahrenheit" a complete success ,,,er,,,a bit prematurely ,by the looks of that FINAL scoreboard up in Indianapolis,,,)

:lmao: Luv U all, gang!:lmao:

Dak had 6 rushing tds each year. Cam had more, but Cam wasn't throwing as well.

Dak doesn't get enough credit for his running and durability. QB is not all about passing.

Nice Dak is a beast , watch him on that commercial with the kids he has a LBs body playing QB I LOVE IT !!!!!!

For all those who think its a meaningless stat . One of the most important parts is he is about to play 50 games in a row for us 3 complete seasons when was the last time we had a QB do that for us . Next the rushing TDs show he dose everything in his skill set to win for us . What other QB has had 18 rushing TDs for us . 20 TDs modest in this era but enough to make playoffs 2 out of 3 yrs

I WILL TAKE IT GO DAK!!!!!

That is why they have an official record book. Records that are deemed to be significant... not stupid trivia. You can create a record out of anything, and you can create infinite records out of existing trivia by just changing the numbers.
Hey Dak, you are the first person to pass for 160 yards against the bucs in week 16 and then 380 yards in week 17 against the giants in the same season. Sounds like you got yourself a record.

Trivia is a bank of mental knowledge.

Records, in the game of football, are physical accomplishments.

Jmo.
There is an official NFL record book of all records that the NFL holds to be significant. We don't have to guess. And I prefer not to live in weird fantasy worlds like the Nightman troll.

"First three seasons."

Disingenuously?

The consecutive part has to do with consistency....
It's a technique called "multiple endpoints." The stat was designed with the specific intent of finding something that makes Dak come out better than anyone. At least 20 passing TDs AND at least 5 rushing TDs AND first three seasons. Nobody would ever look at this stat as something meaningful out of the blue. Instead, someone noticed that Dak happened to just clear these numbers in each of the 3 years and built a stat around that fact.

Cam misses only because he had 19 TDs his second season, one short of the requisite 20. Never mind that he had 7 more combined TDs in the three years and only in his second year did Dak out-TD him, by one. The stat is designed to keep Cam and everyone else out.
