Most debilitating contract in football
How? In a season where the Salary Cap is over $255M, how are the Lions affording:
  • Jared Goff - $53M
  • 2 RB's over$10M+ combined
  • a $30M WR
  • 3 OL making Top 10 $$$ at their positions (LT & RT are both 2nd)
  • starting NT making $11M and the just extended their 3T for $55M guaranteed meaning that BOTH their starting DT's will be making a combined $25M
  • DB's almost $30M
Why are they able to make moves but Dallas can't when the average salary difference between the QB's is $7M? Yet, Dak's contract is stopping them - even though they have over $21M in current Cap Space. Make it make sense...

Not sure why you're asking me things that you can easily lookup yourself? Look at Goff's cap hit for this year and compare it to Dak's.

And, who is that really on? The player or the idiots in the FO that wrote the deal?

The more you think about the $60 million contract the worse it gets in terms of the future for the Cowboys. Thanks Jerry.
Another moronic decision in a long line of them. Then they do it on opening day after the worst offseason they can possibly put together. The stupidity of this front office is astounding!

So, at your job, you've been cool taking less for the benefit of your fellow workers, right?
No, at my job when I've been given the opportunity to earn more I've made sure my performance was such that it continued to justify the increase. Has Dak's performance this year justified his extension? It's a yes or no question.

Of course not. Sadly, that is NOT how the FO's of the NFL work. We can't keep acting like these guys get paid with the same merits as normal folks. But, he got paid based off LAST year. Just like many other players in this league have gotten paid and completely sucked afterwards (see Steele, Terrance or Gallup, Michael)

So why did you ask that man about his job?

I asked because I keep reading quite a few people talking about Dak's contract and how it's ruining the team, blah, blah, blah...he shouldn't have takin the money, blah, blah, blah. I question any man that questions another man's money. If they offered him that money, he's a fool for not taking it and you would be a fool as well. Period.

Lol when did I say he shouldn’t have taken the money? This is a performance based business. You cant be the highest paid QB in the sport and be 2nd in the league in interceptions, bottom third in completion % and QBR without people questioning your contract.

You said he had the most debilitating contract in football. Then, you said that it's on both the FO and Dak for the contract...Dak was already signed (to another deal that Jerry and the FO did that was millions above the next contract). Is that NOT blaming him for taking the $$$? Then, I showed how the Lions, who have a LOT of highly paid players are STILL giving BIG $$$ to more players. And, once again, he got paid for PAST performance. Name me a player that has given the $$$ back when they didn't live up to the deal.

Contracts are not exclusively for past performance, if you believe that to be true it shows how dense you truly are but i'm not surprised by anything Dak stans say nowadays

I loved 2023 Dak for the most part. It really seems like the GB loss really has had a terrible effect on his psyche as well as the entire team. He seems very mechanical and skidish in the pocket. Lacks confidence. Looks like a different QB honestly. I've always rooted for Dak and have been somewhat of an apologist. Those days are gone. Will always be a Cowboys fan at heart but this season looks bleak.

Just as I'm not surprised by anyone that doesn't understand how other teams are able to build quality rosters even with high-priced QB's. And, yes, I'm well aware of the fact that new deals are about past performance and expected future performance. And, OBVIOUSLY, you haven't paid any attention the fact that I have absolutely said Dak has played like ish. But, like others, if I don't solely blame Dak for all this teams issues, then I'm a Dak Stan. Whatever you say bro.
