Hmmm. So have Dallas give dak a 100mm+ contract and leave a devoid of talent/just always blame everyone else. Good QBs (100mm dollar) are able to still perform in spite of their surrounding talent. WR numbers were considerably down last year. The scapegoat got released. This year it's even worse. How much longer will the finger be pointed everyone else? QB is the hub. Dallas has a poor hub.
Dak doesn't make $100 million and if we did have a QB making that much is this really the talent you want around him, these are really the guys that will be playmakers on this team? I also wouldn't trust this staff to develop a young QB, they already wasted Romo's career. Romo at least had the benefit of learning under a different coach. If we had Goff on this team, he would not look anything like the McVay Goff, he would look like the Fisher Goff.
Thompson is on his 3rd team in 2 seasons. He was cut from the Bears and Bills last season, despite them both having among the worst, if not the two worst, WR corps in the league last year, but he was somehow our first WR signed in FA. Hurns was cut by the Jags, who opted to go with a couple of unproven rookies instead. Yeah he had that one good season 3 years ago, but has never replicated that or come close before or since. Tavon looked great 6 years ago....in college and reduced down to gadget guy in the pros, even McVay couldn't find a use for him and were willing to eat half his salary and trade him for a 6th rd pick. While with the Rams the QB rating was 20 points lower when throwing to him than literally any other WR on their teams and they had some bad ones. Gallup is a rook and still learning the NFL game. so there's still hope there. TWill...... well is still TWill and is on IR. Beasley is pretty much it for any type of quality WR.
Outside of Beasley and Gallup, due to being a rook, the rest of our great WRs would struggle to make any other team's roster, much less see significant playing time.
And the hub is the coaching. Too many of the same issues then as now.
