The infamous K-ball.Yep.
More to do with a ball soaked in Vaseline.
NFL changed the rules the next season, because Seattle definitely cheated.

Looks like he was a super bowl MVP in one of them but not both. Eli has been the super bowl mvp twice now. Plunkett deserves to be in the HOF and so will Eli.No Plunkett is not in the HoF...and he won 2 SB's. Wonder if Eli will make it in??
Exactly.
Romo didn't get voted higher in seasons where he absolutely should have been due to people hating on him for everything possible for the vast majority of his career.
He won the MVP in the first SB; then the Raider put it to the Skins in SB XVIII and Marcus Allen was the MVP.What he the super bowl MVP in those super bowls?
The Hall of Fame has shown zero interest in either of those things.
Things that get you in the Hall of Fame as a QB:
Romo has none of the above. Romo has 0 1st Team All-Pro, 0 NFL MVP, #29 in career yards and #21 in touchdowns. And sports writers have (unfairly) treated him as a punchline.
- Super Bowl rings (obvious)
- Career passing totals (yards and touchdowns) that set league records, or were at least in the top 5, at the time you retired (Marino, Moon, Fouts, Tarkenton)
- 1st Team All-Pro & NFL MVP awards (Marino, Fouts and Tarkenton again)
- Being a darling of sports writers generally (Unlike Ken Anderson, who retired with better qualifications than Romo and hasn't sniffed the HOF)
It hasn't helped Jimmy.Romo is part of the media now, think that will help him a lot!
He also never did anything overly special in the playoffs.
^^^^That is crazy to be honest. But it all goes to show what it is that Dak has that Tony lacked. The IT factor. The aura of leadership and confidence from the other guys.
Ring of Honor will be it. There is zero chance he is going into the NFL Hall of Fame. He never sniffed a title.Should teach to never look at top 100 polls. Romo will likely be a hall of famer. Dak has done very little.
It's kind of symptomatic of bad fans that they trash anyone who isn't a Hall of Famer. People act like Romo not being Aikman or Staubach makes him trash.
The Cowboys didn't really get their act together as an ORGANIZATION until Romo's career was almost over. If Dak wins a title it will be as much about the organization as a whole getting on the right track as it is about his qualities as a player. They're important, but they aren't everything.
On the flip-side, Andrew Luck is on track to have a very short career because the Colts management is a farce and has built a roster seemingly designed to get him, personally, killed.
I think the biggest difference between what I saw with Romo and Dak is Romo carried the team on his shoulder in some season it was the only chance we had. Dak is playing within the system not trying to carry the team on his own. Of course as a rookie Dak mission seem to be was to help move the ball and avoid costly mistakes. When Romo 1st took over his mentality was much more of a gun slinger willing to take the chances and if he was picked off it never deterred Romo from going right back out there and taking big chances.
They're wasting Luck's career.Luck's career is a mirror of Romo's to me. One of my best friends is a huge Colts fan and I tell him this all the time.
Irsay and Pagano have absolutely no excuse for doing to Luck what they have, PA.They're wasting Luck's career.
Irsay is just a poor excuse for an owner. Just about as bad as his father. Manning and Bill Polian made that organization. As much as I criticize Jerry he's nowhere near what Irsay is.Irsay and Pagano have absolutely no excuse for doing to Luck what they have, PA.
Pathetic organization that Peyton made and that crumbled the moment he left.
Its only one season and Dak has already won over our entire fan base. Minus one person on this board who shall not be named.
