No Plunkett is not in the HoF...and he won 2 SB's. Wonder if Eli will make it in??
Looks like he was a super bowl MVP in one of them but not both. Eli has been the super bowl mvp twice now. Plunkett deserves to be in the HOF and so will Eli.

What he the super bowl MVP in those super bowls?
He won the MVP in the first SB; then the Raider put it to the Skins in SB XVIII and Marcus Allen was the MVP.
Eli should NEVER have been the MFP of the 2007 SB; that should have gone to the D line.

Romo carried the stigma for a lot of years. Mainly because he used to make very bad decisions in crucial times in games pretty much up until his last 4 years as a starter. Its not like the criticism wasn't warranted. I love the guy, there are games we lost solely based on his mistakes. Holding onto the ball too long, not knowing how to throw it away and taking huge sacks, etc. I think hes also the reason we were even relevant the last decade because of his Houdini ways. Its a double edged sword with him. High Risk High Reward. Now with Dak, you aren't going to get those flashy plays, but you will get consistency and you get mobility as well. He doesn't make mistakes because he doesn't get coerced into forcing the ball to people. Its only one season and Dak has already won over our entire fan base. Minus one person on this board who shall not be named. I cant wait to see the adjustments he makes this season to counter the adjustments other teams have made after a year of tape. The future is indeed bright with this kid and Zeke leading it.

The Hall of Fame has shown zero interest in either of those things.

Things that get you in the Hall of Fame as a QB:
  1. Super Bowl rings (obvious)
  2. Career passing totals (yards and touchdowns) that set league records, or were at least in the top 5, at the time you retired (Marino, Moon, Fouts, Tarkenton)
  3. 1st Team All-Pro & NFL MVP awards (Marino, Fouts and Tarkenton again)
  4. Being a darling of sports writers generally (Unlike Ken Anderson, who retired with better qualifications than Romo and hasn't sniffed the HOF)
Romo has none of the above. Romo has 0 1st Team All-Pro, 0 NFL MVP, #29 in career yards and #21 in touchdowns. And sports writers have (unfairly) treated him as a punchline.

Romo is part of the media now, think that will help him a lot!

It was obvious to many of us for several years that Tony Romo was under- and unappreciated by fans and the media. This isn't exactly news.

That being said, I think it's also a statement on Dak's success and his potential as a leader in the NFL. He commands respect from players across the league, the media, and the fans in a way that Romo never did. I don't know why that is, but it's interesting. Ultimately, us Cowboys fans have a lot to be thankful for and a lot to look forward to. Ideally, by the time Dak is done playing, we'll have seen at least 20 years of a competitive team, even if we don't win many championships.

...I'm starting to believe, because as of yet I haven't heard the contrary, that the "Powers that Be" on this site want me to get out more to "Football " topics...
I'm here to give my support to Dak...I've been a fan of his even before he was drafted into the NFL...over at DC.com they have an MTE contest (Master Talent Evaluator)...I didn't win the contest the year he was drafted....but I did have him picked in that draft!...(yes, I'm that good!...;))...anyway...
I predict great thing ahead for Mr. Dak....and that trickles on down to great things for the fans I imagine!....ok!...So I was here!....Now "like" me!...

It's kind of symptomatic of bad fans that they trash anyone who isn't a Hall of Famer. People act like Romo not being Aikman or Staubach makes him trash.

The Cowboys didn't really get their act together as an ORGANIZATION until Romo's career was almost over. If Dak wins a title it will be as much about the organization as a whole getting on the right track as it is about his qualities as a player. They're important, but they aren't everything.

On the flip-side, Andrew Luck is on track to have a very short career because the Colts management is a farce and has built a roster seemingly designed to get him, personally, killed.

Luck's career is a mirror of Romo's to me. One of my best friends is a huge Colts fan and I tell him this all the time.

I think the biggest difference between what I saw with Romo and Dak is Romo carried the team on his shoulder in some season it was the only chance we had. Dak is playing within the system not trying to carry the team on his own. Of course as a rookie Dak mission seem to be was to help move the ball and avoid costly mistakes. When Romo 1st took over his mentality was much more of a gun slinger willing to take the chances and if he was picked off it never deterred Romo from going right back out there and taking big chances.

This is exactly who they are. Great post. Romo had to win games with the team on his back...unfortunately it caused his back to break.

NFLN has a lot of time to fill with meaningless noise. I'm surprised anyone watches it in the offseason.

Irsay and Pagano have absolutely no excuse for doing to Luck what they have, PA.

Pathetic organization that Peyton made and that crumbled the moment he left.
Irsay is just a poor excuse for an owner. Just about as bad as his father. Manning and Bill Polian made that organization. As much as I criticize Jerry he's nowhere near what Irsay is.

Yet more proof that most NFL players are dumber than a bag of hammers.
