Who were the people questioning Romo's leadership? It wasn't teammates. It was stupid media personalities.

I'm not sure how you can know much about how either commanded the huddle. We have some sound bites of Romo's years, but next to nothing on Dak.

and many here, the baseball cap being backwards? lol Some of the lengths people went to, to undercut Romo.

As for Dak when I hear Dez and Witten say he has command of the huddle and show a cool demeanor that tells me a lot about Dak ability to lead

I think Eli is going to get into the hall because he's the only QB from his era to beat the Tom Brady-led Patriots in a Super Bowl, and he did it twice. Meanwhile the Patriots usually dunked on Peyton Manning hard, and buried two NFL MVPs in Super Bowls (Ryan and Warner.)

The longer the Patriots are dominant the better it will make Eli look. He's basically the modern Jim Plunkett, except Plunkett didn't beat the 70s Steelers or 80s 49ers in his two Super Bowls.
DIdn't Jim Plunkett not make the Hall though? I agree with how similar those 2 are.

Dak had a higher QBR this season than Romo has ever had in any season. Romo's highest QBR came in 2014, but he was up there in age and that may have held him back in voting.

Well that might mean something if ESPN's QBR was a valid statistic. Unfortunately since it has an element of clutch added onto it, that much like PFF scores is entirely subjective, it loses all value as an objective measure.

Dak was great.

But since when did anyone on Cowboyzone use that silly ESPN QBR?
Nobody else but ESPN uses it.

As for official QB ratings

In 2014, Romo had a league best 113.2 regular season and also a league-leading 126.7 playoff rating.

In 2016, Dak too was outstanding. With a 104.9 regular season and 103.2 playoff rating.

Both lower than 2014, but absurdly good for anyone...and especially a rookie.
The future is indeed bright

Looking around in this thread & spot a least 1 person to add to the ignore list, due to utter stupidity.

Dak had a great season & deserved a good ranking on that list. Romo deserved a better one on them as well over the years.

True. I don't understand the need to disrespect Romo to able to show Dak some love. lol

I really wish things would have worked out differently for Romo, the guy had all the ability in the world but this is a team game not a one man show. As for Dak he brings new life to this team and renewed hope.

It's kind of symptomatic of bad fans that they trash anyone who isn't a Hall of Famer. People act like Romo not being Aikman or Staubach makes him trash.

The Cowboys didn't really get their act together as an ORGANIZATION until Romo's career was almost over. If Dak wins a title it will be as much about the organization as a whole getting on the right track as it is about his qualities as a player. They're important, but they aren't everything.

On the flip-side, Andrew Luck is on track to have a very short career because the Colts management is a farce and has built a roster seemingly designed to get him, personally, killed.

QB Rating is much sillier than QBR. I'm not the biggest fan of QBR, but it's far better than QB rating which has massive flaws in it.

Kinda understandable since Romo didn't play college ball in a major conference. I imagine all the players are fully aware of that aspect. You know, the whole 1st class, vs 2nd class societal thingy.

Dak played in a major conference, and came into the NFL like a boss. I imagine that was in the back of their mind, when they were voting. Not suggesting this scenario is the main reason, but I bet it played it's part.

Plain and simple, Romo carried the stigma of gaffes at the wrong time and people held it against him. Prescott has yet to face that kind of exposure.

Exactly.

Romo didn't get voted higher in seasons where he absolutely should have been due to people hating on him for everything possible for the vast majority of his career.
