Not saying it's anyones fault. I understand why the Cowboys waited, I also understand Dak taking a business approach. Reality is though Daks deal doesn't age the way people think it will. The AAV will age well, actually, it already has, but his cap hit jumps $30MM starting next year and becomes a real issue for the Cowboys. Very possibly they simply restructure next season, but that solves one problem and opens up another.

Oh I’ll gladly blame the Jones…bc they’re awful at roster management and negotiations.

I honestly don’t know what to expect for the next contract if we do extend him but if I had to guess I’d assume they mess the next one up too.

In that scenario...according to your point all quarterbacks are frauds. Staubach had Pearson, and a Doomsday D) Troy had Michael and the greatest running back in NFL history along with a killer D, Montana had Rice, (Top Rated D, Brady had Gronk, (top rated D), Bradshaw had Swan, (one of the best D's in history) and the list goes on and on till the break of dawn. Even Dilfer and McMahon had two of the best defenses of all-times. winning a superbowl takes unified effort along with hard work and sometimes a whole lotta good fortune better known as luck...

Yea, outside of Mahomes pretty much every QB has needed help from the rest of the team at times to get dubs.

And as good as Mahomes is, the Chiefs have done a much better job of building around him than Dallas has here.

Since coming back, Dak is now 7th in QB efficiency, 5th in EPA per play and the O is averaging 35 points per game.

https://rbsdm.com/stats/stats/

For reference, Dak was 14th in efficiency last year and 12th in EPA / play. Appeared fairly rusty early on but has gotten a little sharper with more snaps and appears to be returning to form.
he hasn't won a big game, Vikings don't count because (give me a few minutes to think up a few reasons and I will spin that for you). its all garbage time stats. its the defense carrying the team. it was the running game carrying the team. it was Moore. he was barely a bus driver at best. his throws are 6-12 inches off where it needs to be.

Having a very good defense helps him immeasurably. The defense allows him to play within himself. He doesn't have to take dumb chances. Yet he still does sometimes.

Oh, and Pollard and, to a lesser extent Zeke, help as well
does that go for Rush? or does Rush carry the team? well, according to Rush Crush groupies

When your run game, OL and defense are dominant the league is littered with QBs who can do what he did.

If they can all keep that level of play then they can win a title with Dak Prescott. If at any point they can't and more of the burden falls on the QB they can not win. It's that simple because he's a fraud.
littered!? really. bbbuuullllll shiet

no when all of those are in place, then you expect your QB to perform as he did yesterday....that's What all other good QBs do when they have the support around them. as obvious, all you have to do is look at Brady, his support is failing around him and he looks like he is struggling. same with GB. but those guys excel when the support is around them and they can win superbowls.

do Dak did the same yesterday. can he continue? we will need to continue to watch and see if it falls apart or it will succeed.

He can win a super bowl but he is a fraud.

Hater logic at it's finest. lol
its called moving the goal post.

first, its he can't do this and he can't do that...when he does, its anybody can do that. too funny.

with them Dak is in a lose-lose situation. if he does bad, they are here creating 18323 threads on Dak...when he does well, its not dak and anybody else can do that...so no matter what the outcome, he gets no credit....

its stupidity at its best

I don't care about a QB having one good game, it's not enough it never has been. Put a run of good games together and take your team deep into the playoffs.

There will always be excuses, but if excuses is all you have at the end of your career then you weren't good enough.

Yes. It is perfect logic. Trent Dilfer wasn't a franchise QB. To pay him as such would have made him a fraud as it makes Dak Prescott. Yet the Ravens won with him by being great around him. This is what the Cowboys must do. They can't expect anything from their QB. He's an empty vessel.

So as long as the run game, OL, defense and even ST dominates you can win with Dak Prescott and about 50 other QBs in the league.
except yesterday he was 22 of 25 and 2 TDs and 275 yards....but yeah, lets not expect anything.

you must be hurting today...does your bottom hurt by any chance? is it burning really bad? your posts seem to indicate you are in a world of hurt

A guy who is paid like a franchise QB and taking up so much of his team's cap space yet can not do anything a real franchise QB can do. Which is to elevate the players around him.

He's as real as a QB as Jerry is a GM and Stephen the VP of Personnel.
what's a franchise QB? I bet you can't describe it.

Yup, the metrics shared are based off the entire season and not 1 game.

Don't worry, I'm sure his reply will be very tongue-in-cheek and clever without actually acknowledging or addressing your points. Because Dak sucks and stuff. I'm beginning to wonder if Dak is sleeping around with some wives or husbands or something because the disdain for him amongst some seems strangely personal.

If we get the Vike's Dak and not the GB Dak the rest of the season, we ill be a force to reckon with!
I don't even mind the GB dak. the Vikings Dak was near perfect. that's a difficult bar to reach even for Mahomes. but with GB we scored 28. that should be enough.

if we get the defense from Vikings game and not GB game we should be ok.

Those that know football, know that he's a very good QB. Good for him.

As long as he stays under 27 attempts, stays out of long third downs and doesn’t have to come from behind.

in other words when he’s in his comfort level, he’s a good QB.

I don’t think there was much difference in the 2 games. If we didn’t have the option route mishaps in GB his line wouldn’t been something like 280 / 3 /1.

The difference was GB scored like 31 points and the Viks scored 3 points.
Huge difference, one game turned over in crucial times of the game, lost time of possession which put defense on field winded. These things matter and aren’t shown in a stat line
