4 INT's is a little deceptive. I counted AT LEAST that many easy INT's that defenders dropped. But most stats are never as good as they seem. I do know that I'm excited for our future with this kid and I have no doubt that he's going to get better.....
Just as his receivers dropped a bunch of passes this season, many for either first downs or TDs.

Also, look at how many ints our D dropped this year....at least 3 alone against the Giants in NY.

Agreed he has played exceptional but

1. Next year teams will have a lot of film on his tendencies so he needs to work to break those tendencies NOW. Look at his own tape and see what he does usually and work to change it up to stay a step ahead of defences

2. He had to work on his fumbles

3. He had to work in his internal clock 1,2,3 ball had to be out

4. Learn to read defences better to anticipate throws

5. Setting his feet when making throws again and again so it becomes second nature

Lots of homework
Teams have film, but so does Dak. He knows where he needs to improve and has an entire offseason to do so. He will have an entire offseason with Linehan, learning the system inside and out. I anticipate him coming back more instinctive and decisive.

Cowboys receivers had the fewest drops in the NFL... like interceptions, another stat that fluctuates from year to year and is unlikely to be the case next year.

I appreciate the career Romo had for the team. He was an excellent player. I wish him well with whatever team he ends up with next season.

Me too. If not Cowboys I hope Romo wins it next year. To me this year wasn't about Dak vs Romo. I knew in this watered down league. I knew our strength was our O line (true reason for our success bar none)

Forget everything else. All the details. Basically we threw away a year. A dominant year With a fast strong smart RB.

For some reason I can't fathom. How could every blue blooded Cowboys Fan totally forget about the weapon just sitting there.

Romo. Did you forget Romo. How did any of you forget Romo.

The problem in this information society is we are so quick to come to an understanding and are even quicker to pick a side. We dig ourselves so deep behind an issue that our ego' s will no longer allow us to see clearly.

It was shameful. I don't care what comment someone has, it was utterly disrespectful. And the worse part if you trashed Romo it showed you to be ungrateful. That's a sin that is unforgivable.

The whole time he was stoic. Beautiful strong. If every man in this dysfunctional country could be have the man he is. We would be living in a utopia.

We didn't turn to him in a win or go home situation. Same team same dominant O-line, same dominant Rb. Same sean Lee playing possessed. Same Dez ballin. Only difference Romo. And the blinded ungrateful fans managed to some how come up with arguments on how a dink and dunk super intelligent strong characters winner should rightfully be the starter. But still a dink and dunk rookie learning on the job.

I told everyone if Romo gets in that Philly game the true number 2 would get a touchdown. It happened. If Romo plays we score an extra 13 pts a game. Easy Elliott gets an extra 180 yrs at least. Because safeties would have had to respect deep ball.

But no you all wanted the safeties playing up. Why do you think Witten and Beasley had the stats they did. BECAUSE A ROOKIE WAS PLAYIN QB. A lot of games were like a scrimmage behind that line.

Why didn't you want Romo to execute with all those weapons.
Did you forget
Where you ungrateful. Then became spiteful. Blinded as a fool

I didn't want to throw away another year I didntwant to even risk it. I have been waiting for a quarter of a century. I am tired of these heart breakers

In the beginning of the game he was jittery and he didn't really settle down for a couple drives. Naturally he was a rookie. But that's why I say with Romo a legendary. That's what he is (I don't care what comment you post) it's what he is . If you forgot then that's because of your own blindness.

Legend >greater then Rookie all day every day. Sorry that's a scientific fact.

So all of you are taking solace in this " building block" yeah he lost but did you see how he fought back that experience is in valuable.

GIVE ME A BREAK

You don't get to do that You judged Romo by playoff wins. It's the most twisted logic A lot of you ungrateful fans use to fuel your blindness.

Well then Dak is 0-1. And we once again are 1 and done.

But anyone truly watching this season knows we lost because of divine justice. New agers call it Karma. But I believe in God and I know he frowns upon the UNGRATEFUL

It's not deceptive whatsoever. As has been said in this thread, every QB in the NFL has incompletions that could have easily been interceptions.

Many believe Rodgers played "lights out" against us but he could've easily thrown 4 interceptions in that game.

That list reads like the list any QB would have heading into an offseason.

The point of the thread is to compliment Dak on his rookie season (which was quitely possibly the best ever), not to say he should take the offseason off and not try to get better.

This is nothing new. He did the exact same thing in college.

One thing he needs to work on IMO is checking down to the RB. On countless occasions Zeke has been wide open in the flat and he never looks at him. Ever.

Interesting. I didn't realise that.

NotForLong,

I appreciate your enthusiasm for Romo in your posts above, lots of us fans still love the guy, but Dak clearly had this team chugging along like a well-oiled machine. It was an energy that never needed to be broken by forcing Romo into the starting position. We all know Romo is good but so was Dak.

There is no telling if Romo wins us that game against GB. It's just pure speculation at this point. At least this way Dak got great experience and a taste of the playoffs. He can build from that now.

If you need to point fingers for our lose you cleary should rewatch the game and watch the defensive side of the ball. They got shredded.

1. Because we all know those teams coming up on the schedule did not have any film on his tendencies this season.

2. Agreed, but this is more being a rookie than his shortcoming.

3. I think the fact he found second and third receivers and did so while being both a rookie and harassed at times show this is not a big deal.

4. Really? Amazing is all I have to say to this.

5. How many times does Gruden need to say his feet are always in the right position?

A lot less homework than you seem to illustrate, frankly.

Good stuff.

Really wasn't looking to lay blame. I expected Rodgers to do legendary things on the big stage. It's what legends do. It's what Dak did at the end of the game and all season.

We did not field our best team. For no good reason. And here we are again right where we always are. If the popular opinion poll around cowboy nation was to put Romo in Jerry would have swayed. But no everyone got caught up in Dakmania and totally abandoned our best chance for the Lombardi this year

It was a very, very good start.

I don't believe it was an anomaly, either.

Dak Prescott was very good at protecting the football at Mississippi State and did an even better job as a rookie with the Dallas Cowboys.

Yes, some potential interceptions were dropped, but the same goes for some long strikes and TDs. That's football.

I'm still grinding on the Terrance Williams drop against the Green Bay Packers.

Dak will probably have more interceptions next season for a variety of reasons, many of which have already come up in this thread.

I will still be expecting him to take care of the football, it's part of his make-up as a player.

And I hope the sophomore signal caller continues to improve in every aspect of the game in 2017. Pre-snap reads, when to audible out of a call or stick with it, making reads, pocket mechanics, when to take shots down the field, when to run, etc.

Wow. Ben's numbers.

Lets not forget we're a running team first now... or should be.

That helps.

He had a really good rookie year, for sure, tough.

The number 1 tendency all other teams will see is a clean pocket for him the throw out of 90% of the time.
