Thats all Dak threw for in the regular. Very impressive for a rookie QB. He has alot to work on, but he was exceptional at taking care of the ball

Dak did a great job of doing what he was asked to do - make the safe throws, protect the football. The downside of that was Beasley and Witten leading the team in receptions. Dez was targeted as often, but almost half of those throws ended as incompletions.

The next step will be for Dak to make more plays down the field, and I so no reason to think he's incapable of doing it. The question will be how many more turnovers will result from it. If he minimizes them, he'll be great.

4 INT's is a little deceptive. I counted AT LEAST that many easy INT's that defenders dropped.

You could say that for every QB.

If every potential INT was caught across the board then 7-8 would be extremely impressive, in comparison to the rest of the league.

Dak set the bar so high for himself in 2016 he's going to have a tough time improving on what he did which leaves the possibility for a sophomore slump. Can't imagine he'll only throw 4 INT's next season. He'll be going down the field more next season which could lead to less consistency than we saw this season.
This is all based on the assumption that he is starting next season. This is the main reason i want Romo gone. Because if he isnt, that will be the talk all off-season and during the season and training camp and OTAs

To his credit, I think Dak's 8 turnovers may be the least of any Dallas QB in franchise history.

I realize guys like Alex Smith and Sam Bradford can pull that off too, but it seemed Dak brought a bit more than that to the table.

I'll try to look it up, but I think the 8 total may be the least.

Good work...and epic work for a rookie.

This stat isn't surprising considering how conservative he plays. He needs to take more chances in order for this offense to reach it's full potential. I don't even blame this conservative play on Dak because I think he was under orders from Linehan to play that way. I'm hoping next season this offense won't be so run first heavy and allow Dak to open up the full playbook.

He had a great year. I suspect he and the team will take a dip in 2017.

Romo will 100% be gone. And if not, still doesn't matter. It is Dak's team. Dak > Romo right now.

Dak will be starting next season he's our new QB. Once Romo held his press conference relinquishing the job the Dak Prescott era became official and Romo was on the way out. The reason Romo held that press conference was to put an end to the speculation and distractions and bringing him back next season would open all that up again. The last thing the Cowboys want is to have QB controversy heading into training camp. This is Dak's team and Romo will be playing elsewhere in 2017 unless he decides to retire.

Here's where Prescott ranked on throws of 15+ yards in the air, among the 27 QB with at least 70 attempts at that distance (includes playoffs):

attempts 23rd
YPA 10th
comp % 7th
TD % 2nd
INT % 1st
passer rating 1st

And here's where Dez's catch percentage ranked on targets shorter than 15 yards, among the five Cowboys with the most targets at that distance, in 2016.
Elliott 80.5%
Williams 80.4%
Beasley 76.0%
Witten 74.2%
Bryant 60.9%

Tell that to Jerry, and to Garrett.

Very impressive! From what we know about Dak I think he will be outstudying and outsmarting those who are studying him.

Whats really impressive to me is his completion percentage considering the amount of balls that hit his recievers in the hands and were dropped this year, usually big plays too like beasly and dez dropping sure tds vs giants and butler it seemed drop about 3-4 easy big play tds too.

Daks history shows dramatic and impressive year to year improvement due to hard work and studying every single year of his entire career. I think Dak is gonna be "The Daddy" to these defenses real soon and a Brady like headache for our rivals for the next 15 years.
