Dak vs Wentz comparison thread **merged**

Here is a question.
Would you trade Dak for Wentz straight up today?
Not tomorrow. You need to chose today.

Who do you have?

No. I stay with Dak. The intangibles make him too valuable at this point. And he looks to have the arm/athletic ability to go with it.

What'd your choice be?

Colin Cowherd was going hard this morning downplaying Dak and his performance as nothing more than "average". What a tool.

He married his opinion of Dak without getting enough information and now he is just going to have to live with it.

Eventually this ends with the same ole story like Romo and no matter how good you play you have to bring a Lombardi.

Why is he a tool? Because he didn't sing his praises and kiss his feet?

Could care less if he sings his praises or "kisses his feet". He comes across to me, as an arrogant blowhard who believes the only opinions which matter are his own. He is hardly objective, and wants to downgrade Dak as nothing more than a future backup with a little bit of upside, when it is real clear to those not blinded by their hatred of the team, that Dak is a franchise qb in the making.

I'd have to go with Dak also.
The guy hasn't played a bad game yet...preseason doesn't count but watching him carry this command over to the regular season does count for something.
When he drops back to pass I have no nervousness of him throwing a Kirk Cousins type of interception.

Tonight we get to watch Carson Wentz play against the Bears.

Next week we get to watch Dak play on SNF vs the Bears.

The media hasn't recognized it yet so I will help do their job for them.

Both Rookie QB's will get the Bears on primetime so naturally everyone is going to start comparing the 2.

As most of you know I had Wentz as far and away the best QB in the draft so im excited for these comparisons to begin.
Lets get it started !!!

Bradford is an NFL veteran. What he did yesterday pales in comparison to Wentz. A kid from division 2 with barely a training camp and one preseason game walks into the regular season and looks like a pro bowler.

You basically have to be a complete waste of a read to disagree. It was extraordinary. Better than Bradford. Better than Prescott. Better than Jesus.

Also, while Wilson has been good, he also landed on a Seattle team that was loaded and poised to make some big runs. That defense was all-world for a couple of years.

Correct. The supporting cast on offense for Prescott is much better than what Wentz has but Wentz has a defense.

Dak is the better value for sure but QB is 1 of the positions where i'm more concerned about the player than the value.

So value aside it's looking pretty even right now.

I think what could separate the 2 early on is one QB not making mistakes but also being a real NFL playmaker at the same time.
I'm trying to figure out why you would compare a 1st rounder to a 4th rounder. It makes no sense to me. You should be comparing Wentz to Goff. JMO

I just want Wentz to throw a couple of ugly picks like I know he can tonight. After that, he can win or lose the game, I don't care.

Chicago's a tough place to play. No rookie QB should be expected to win it.

You might say picking Wentz would be a test of faith.

I too would have love to draft Wentz. He was my target but unfortunately we did not have the opportunity to. With that being said, I hope Dak beats him every time the Cowboys play them.

Prescott is the road ahead. Make no mistake about it. Will hr slip...will he fail...of course. Thats NFL football. He is the Cowboy future. Romo is done. Believe it.

Hes going to be something special if he can stay healthy but tap the brakes... wow.
