Found these great charts someone came up with on btb.com (http://www.bloggingtheboys.com/2016...rescott-one-qb-has-a-bright-future-with-their)

What you see below is passing "spray" chart of all the passes & incompletions thrown by Carson Wentz in last week's Eagles game against the Cowboys.

As you can see by the sheer number of throws he makes behind the LOS, Wentz' passing numbers are inflated by these low-risk, short throws (ie. screens).

Meanwhile, despite Dak's relatively poor game last week, you can see by the chart (below) that he's making big-boy NFL throws.

Both interceptions that Wentz threw against the Giants today were both around 15 yards downfield. He overthrew his target both times, sending the ball right to a Giants defender for easy interceptions.

If Dak did that he would be called "unintelligent" and "innaccurate" by Zoners. Both are rookies but are treated very differently.

It looks like Dak is strongly encouraged not to throw it over the middle and Wentz is strongly encouraged not to throw it farther than 10 yards. Both can be problematic.

It looks to me like the Eagles coaches decided to bring Wentz along very slowly, a bunch of confidence builders in the first 3 games, throwing very fast, short passes near the LOS.

It was working, they stuck with it. Got 3 wins. Then they decided to start branching him out and having him go deeper, and that's where the problems have cropped up in losses to the Lions, the Commanders, the Cowboys and now the Giants.

Today he tried to go midrange early on both opening drives and neither pass was even remotely under control, they sailed over the intended targets and went right to defenders. I'm not joking, look at the video replays, both time the Giant guy didn't even have to stretch to reach the ball,, it came right to them.

Meanwhile from the start the Dallas coaches have trusted Dak to throw midrange from the start. He's starting to go downtown 2-3 times a game.
Wentz keeps trying, but got off to a horrible start today, so the coaches took him back to the short stuff.

You give up all that to draft Wentz because he can be a dangerous vertical QB. You dont even use his best assets. He passes with very little touch right now. He is just has that 95 mph fastball right now with no changeup operating a dink and dunk system. At some point you have to let him be a real QB.

Dak is far from perfect right now and there is a host of things he needs to clean up in the pocket. However he is operating a legitimate NFL passing game that attacks all points of the field and doesnt play to protect its young QB from himself. Right now Dak is winning handlily over Wentz

Its hard to find fault with the decision to go to Wentz because 1) They have already won more games then I expected. 2) They got a good chunk of what they gave up back from Minnesota. But you have to wonder if they are slowly damaging him by playing him before he is really ready to run a legitimate offense. Not the same, but RG3 and Kaepernick looked great running gimmicky and simplified offenses too. It really didnt help there development as NFL QBs

Wentz sucks.
I dont think he sucks but he will never be a elite QB. too inaccurate. People blame his receivers but there are times he doesnt really give them a chance to make a routine catch. He seems to throw high and hard often. He throws rockets. Huge arm but hes so inaccurate.

I don't actually think Wentz sucks either, but he's certainly not performed the duties of an NFL QB the way Dak has been asked to.

Wentz will likely evolve and get better, but for now there's simply no debate.

Let's just say that I am very happy that Dallas landed Dak, sticking to a development plan...and targeted Zeke instead of Wentz, to pull the trigger upon.

Wentz continues to make it harder and harder for his supporters. They're going to have to get real creative now. Dude is straight up playing like dookie.

I guess at some point he'll end up leading a game winning drive in the 4th quarter. Until then, LOL.

Glad to see Philly turning into a dumpster fire. Almost makes their hot start worth it. Got their fanbase's hopes up, now this. Haha.

Also, the whole "his receivers suck" thing is way overblown. Reading some of the stuff about them would have you think that they're 100% incapable of getting any separation on every play. It's just not true. Wentz is very much a part of the problem too.
