All right, all right, allow me to play devil's advocate here for a minute.

Yes, the Eagles have Wentz throwing short stuff 95% of the time. But we can't crow too loudly about it, because remember: as limited as that offense is under Wentz, the Eagles DID almost beat us, right? It took OVERTIME, people.

They did win 4 games this year running this offense, and without a stellar 4th quarter and OT from Dak, it would've been 5 games.

Until proven otherwise, and that will take a few years to know for sure, but for now I'm comfortable in thinking that just maybe we got real lucky with the Dak pick and as of now he looks like maybe the best QB or one of the best from that draft, and I'll take that...and if Dak and Elliot are 10-12 year starters for this team, then we did alright ... and this bolds well for next offseason, concentrate on the D and a better pass rush.

give Peterson one more draft and free agency and he will give wentz more to work with. wentz will be good it just not this season. if wentz had the running game that dak has he would be throwing the ball better.

Almost doesn't count, its a 4 quarter game and sometimes longer, our team is built to wear teams down giving us the advantage in the 4th ... and in the Eagles game it worked perfectly and in the OT their D looked done...

If Dak did that he would be called "unintelligent" and "innaccurate" by Zoners. Both are rookies but are treated very differently.

do not recall Dak being described as unintelligent in these parts but think to a larger degree they are treated differently. I believe that boils down to when/where they were drafted.

Really though is the only thing Wentz and Dak have in common is they're both rookies. Do not see the point in comparing them. Yes, Dak has the benefit of a stacked offense around him but that shouldn't be held against him - he's making 90+% of the correct calls.

I think Wentz has potential and the Eagles performance of late comes down to many factors, including the level of his play. I think Wentz will do just fine.

Glad we grab what is looking to be a 1st round talent in Dak in the 4th. Also glad we have the cast of highly talented characters around him to speed up his maturity.

They came close to beating us. They could have easily won that game. With Wentz in that limited offense. I see your point, but the fact remains.

Sorry, but it's still problematic.

1st off your assuming what the coaches will or will not encourage him to do. 2nd he is making the reads and going to the open man. Nothing problematic about it. It is almost as if some here want him to make poor reads and throws. He is doing what the offense ask of him and doing it quite well. He is not some vet ball player he is a rookie who frankly is out playing many vet QB out there who will take stupid risk when they do not have to.

Their receivers suck, their tight ends suck, their offensive line sucks, their secondary sucks, their coaching sucks, their running backs suck, their kicking game sucks, their cheese steaks give you the runs, but other than that they are the best team in the NFC East according to their fans.

Darren Sproles is legit. Continue on...lol

It looks like Dak is strongly encouraged not to throw it over the middle and Wentz is strongly encouraged not to throw it farther than 10 yards. Both can be problematic.

I thought it showed Philly taking away the middle throws that Dak likes (Witten/Beasely). Combined with pressure and it was something he struggled with.

You give up all that to draft Wentz because he can be a dangerous vertical QB. You dont even use his best assets. He passes with very little touch right now. He is just has that 95 mph fastball right now with no changeup operating a dink and dunk system. At some point you have to let him be a real QB.

At halftime of our game, we turned to the eagles and giants and noticed that he has very bad accuracy and touch on his passes at the end of the first half in their game against the Giants. We all in the bar was watching it saying those are some terrible passes. Then they had to kick a field goal which was then blocked.

Being told where to throw the ball sounds like something that might happen to a rookie.

Possibly. I guess I would need to see some more game charts. I know he stays away from the deep middle in just about every game.

Agreed. 100%. The Cowoys with their 4th rd pick STILL beat the treaded Eagles wth their fancy top end 1st rd boy. Thats worth someting.!

You'd think not, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if some would still take Wentz over Dak.

I'm sure some would, I was just surprised that as recently as last week people were arguing that *everybody* would.

I gotta say, I didn't post about it (I don't think) but after the little bit of shakiness in GB and the fair amount of shakiness v. PHI, I was really glad to see Dak have such a solid game yesterday. In my head, I knew he was just having a normal reaction to pressure from good defenses, but the thought of him turning into a pumpkin or having a lot of work to do after the 8 week mark (the amount of time it takes for DCs in this league to completely deconstruct and find out how to test a player) was in the back of my mind. I didn't bring it up it because I thought it'd start off another dumb Romo v. Dak exchange, but I did think about it a few times. He looked really good yesterday. The guy keeps on passing every test put in front of him.

lol. Nope. Prescott is the real thing! I couldn't care less about an Eagle, over rated over hyped bust!! Looks good on Philadelphia!!

I had no hate for Wentz until he was drafted by PHI. But the idea of Dak developing with Wentz looking more and more like a rookie and proving to be more and more beatable with each succeeding week really pleases me. I hope he ends up imploding in the most embarrassing possible way.

The fact defenses are now keying on the fact Wentz has accuracy issues beyond 10 yards will have results in the coming weeks.

The Eagles have GOT to get the defenses to play back by having Wentz go deeper. But as we saw yesterday in the Giants game on those first 2 series, unless he gets more accurate FAST, and can read defenses better, this is a recipe for disaster. The coaching staff has time to fix this, but unless it's fixed in a hurry, teams will make them pay for it.
