With all due respect...I've only been around here over 10 years and a student of the game over 20 but a 2nd year QB is reading defenses because the stats you stated says so. Now THAT'S watching the game. With all due respect... you spoke as if the Giants, Broncos and Cardinals are just your average, run-of-the-mill defenses. Any casual NFL fan could tell you that that's absurd.
And I don't know what game you watched or what QB you've been watching for the last year, if you think Dak hasn't been "reading defenses." Did you know that his TD-INT ratio was nearly 6-1 last year? Or that he put up a 141+ passer rating last night? Kind of tough to do that without reading the defense extremely well.
You came across as someone who's new to the game, or at the very least, someone who doesn't watch football if it's not a Cowboys game.
Don't you love how people go from 1 win to the SB? I'm just hoping our O-line returns next week. That’s true but it doesn’t mean I can’t root for him or be just as happy if we win a super bowl. I’m going to 2 cowboys games this year spent 1000s. I’m a die hard just like anyone else. I have a habit of a wait and see approach. 20 years of mediocrity it has made me that way. I want B jones , Prescott , Dez to make me eat crow.
What game were you watching? He was better in the second half, or late in the 3rd. But we need to start discussing what the hell is going on at the LOS, I have no idea why he's not changing plays, but it's getting Elliott killed.
This is short term memory due to getting a W. There are some serious freakin' problems in this game, we essentially went 6 quarters of terrible football, and I mean terrible. We had the lowest number of yards in a first half since 2005 - there are problems, and Dak is part of it.
I say we need to move Green to RT and Collins to LG. The experiment of switching them up is failing, that push in the middle in the run game isn't happening as much as we need it and the pass protection from the right is even worse than it was with Free.
I agree.Dak was more efficient. Palmer was playing from behind too so that increased his yards.
Yes. They should have him roll out and chuck it as far as he can on every other play. What a game by Dak! His TD run turned the game around. His deep throws were excellent. He played like an All-Pro tonight. Coming off a tough game he showed everyone what he's made of. That's leadership.
He is what he is. He is an athlete playing quarterback, not a pocket passer. The runs, the read option, the bootlegs are all things he does well.
He doesn't handle pressure in the pocket well so it needs to be avoided. He threw the ball straight in the dirt in those situations. He is not accurate from the pocket.
Good for our system but the system has to shake it up some times.
I agree.
If? If the Cowboys blocked better then they would've passed for over 400 yards.....let's not play the if game...That's ridiculous. Palmer had 130 yards or so on the first 2 drives where he lit the Cowboys secondary up. If we had not had the pass rush we did he would have passed for over 400 yards!

What did he do in the second half? You know? When it matters? Fitzgerald was eating.......Really, seriously. He lit the secondary up. What game were you watching?
3 man rush and 8 in coverage and he was still completing passes!
Cowboys are notoriously slow at starting; one of the reasons for all Romo's 4th quarter comebacks.I am sure this is mentioned somewhere in the 12 pages. But one of his biggest faults he is a slow starter for some reason, dating back to last season, with our current defense that is trouble.
He makes plays when things break down, but I still have concerns about his accuracy and mechanics. Even on his long completions he did not set himself up properly when throwing, throwing off of his back foot. He needs to improve upon becoming a better pocket passer. He still doesn't look comfortable there.
