NTC or not, you bench a career starting QB and they will beg to be traded. There are no endorsement deals or commercial opportunities for backup QBs not named Josh Dobbs. You might get a rack of footballs and a ham sandwich from the Browns. They’ll take anybody. So draft a QB high next year
Give him a year to develop
Cut Dak in '26 if new guy looks good
Ugh. GrossOnly problem is this class looks like ***. Might need to suck a year later lol.
That's the key. Get rid of Dak in January after our season ends. He hit his ceiling 3 years ago. He's inconsistent and nothing special.I and others pointed this out right after the details came out.
The only issue is that some of the years are paid a year ahead of time, so it will cost them to release him.
For example, his 2026 salary is guaranteed if he's on the roster in March of 2025.
You know what, you're absolutely right. He's getting up there in years, but should still have some value. May as well get something out of him.NTC or not, you bench a career starting QB and they will beg to be traded. If you think JJ is going to cut Dak after giving him all of that guaranteed money (not to mention a dead cap hit of $151mm or nearly 55% of the total cap), you definitely didn't pay attention to how he dealt with MM. He wouldn't fire MM after GB game because he didn't want to pay a coach who wasn't here and he was only getting paid $4mm (2nd lowest HC salary). JJ is all about the money at this point. That's the key. Get rid of Dak in January after our season ends. He hit his ceiling 3 years ago. He's inconsistent and nothing special.
You aren't a Cowboys fan.Only $129 million is guaranteed.

If Dak is released or cut before 2027, the Cowboys don't have to pay him the full amount.
Thought you guys might want to know.
You were M.I.A. last night after the Lions anal probe. You aren't a Cowboys fan.
You quit, remember?
So why do you care???
He publicly declared that he was no longer a Dallas Cowboys fan.You were M.I.A. last night after the Lions anal probe.
Raiders? Hell naw. Now Dak on a healthy Dolphins offense makes sense.pawn him off on the Raiders or Dolphins or something, I'm sure he'd waive the NT clause to get out of this disaster
Raiders at least have Bowers and a willingness to spend, they may be even to convince Adams to stay if they have Dak.Raiders? Hell naw. Now Dak on a healthy Dolphins offense makes sense.
Adams is old and washed. He can kick rocks.Raiders at least have Bowers and a willingness to spend, they may be even to convince Adams to stay if they have Dak.
Even beyond the money his ego wouldn't let him do it.If you think JJ is going to cut Dak after giving him all of that guaranteed money (not to mention a dead cap hit of $151mm or nearly 55% of the total cap), you definitely didn't pay attention to how he dealt with MM. My son called it Nutbutter. Not hard to figure that one out.Well that's depressing
Unfortunately you are correct. Jerry lives for today. A blind man could see this train wreck coming and would prepare accordingly. As a fan, I'm all for tearing it all down and rebuilding. Jerry on the other hand only wants his team to be relevant. We lose games but still have a full stadium and high tv ratings. This is Jerrys true goal. He claims to have made his millions off of hard work and smart investing. Common sense should tell him it's going to take the same approach to make this team relevant in a good way.If you think JJ is going to cut Dak after giving him all of that guaranteed money (not to mention a dead cap hit of $151mm or nearly 55% of the total cap), you definitely didn't pay attention to how he dealt with MM. But he just tore down his ridiculous mansion to build a more expensive ridiculous mansion.pawn him off on the Raiders or Dolphins or something, I'm sure he'd waive the NT clause to get out of this disaster
