A million random senerios can happen where her or your family can find themselves with valuables in a car. That doesn't mean they are dumb.

Im sure If robbers caught you on a good day (Christmas shopping, going to/from a bank, etc.) they would've got something valuable that you don't usually carry around.
Late for Pilates and $40k in valuables in the car is typically not in most people's vocabulary as a discussion point or a decision point.

Who takes their expensive jewellery to Pilates? Even if there was going to be another stop after Pilates who in their right mind takes that risk. The decision points most people would make is, "Hmm, I think I will go to Pilates first, and then come home and pick up my valuables and then take them to the jewellery store." Or maybe, "I just picked up some jewellery. It's raining cats and dogs. Maybe I should go home and drop things off and catch the next Pilates class?"

I get that you want to give her the benefit of the doubt, but that is the Darwinian rule at work here. Some mistakes are way more egregious and stupid unless you have a stupid way of dealing with mistakes.

As other posters have said, good thing she is safe. But that doesn't excuse her from not managing risk in a common sense way.

Didn't see this posted anywhere. It's an article about Dak's fiance having 40 thousand dollars worth of luxury goods stolen from her car. Who the heck leaves that much valuable stuff in their car??:huh:

https://www.khou.com/article/news/c...Tn8nInbOannsB3QhYU_aem_QDN3wUYIsYwO8tdSXZtoyg

DALLAS — According to a Dallas Police Department report obtained and reviewed by WFAA, tens of thousands of dollars worth of items were stolen from Dak Prescott's fiancé Thursday.
The report says Sarah Ramos arrived at a Pilates class Thursday morning, and that she "quickly rushed inside due to the rain." "Due to the haste," the report continues, she "forgot to lock her [vehicle] door."

When she returned and entered her vehicle after the class, the report says, several pieces of property had been taken. At this time, the report says, she "was notified that her credit cards were being used at [another] location."
The report detailed several pieces of property stolen that amounts to close to $40,000 in estimated worth, including designer handbags and wallets from Chanel, YSL, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Prada, as well as computer software and cash. The incident occurred the day after Christmas.
The theft follows a string of burglaries targeting high-profile athletes like Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow and Luka Dončić. Security expert Doug Deaton said thieves targeting these athletes are professional thieves.
"They will often follow [athlete's] family members from stores, from the supermarket, from the mall, follow [the athletes] from the games, follow [them] to and from your work," he explained.
"The biggest thing that I would advise [athletes and their families] to do is to assume they are being observed by professionals because they are."
Dallas Police Department sources confirmed to WFAA Sunday that Dončić's home was broken into Friday through his back master bedroom, that they rummaged through the bedroom and bathroom, then got away with a necklace worth $4,000 dollars, three earrings worth $14,000 and four rings worth $,5,000.
The Dallas Police Department is investigating both cases.
It took two times for someone going inside my wife's unlocked cars (thefts happened two years apart) and stealing her purse both times before she started locking her vehicle on a regular basis. She felt both mad and bad about it both times.

I will forward this link to her. She will likely laugh her head off at the carelessness that made hers look tiny by comparison.

Remember this mindset when its a member of your family. Though I understand yall just want to victim blame, when the victim is rich and/or connected to someone yall hate (Dak). Eventhough outside of football him nor his family has done nothing to earn the hate they're receiving.

Being a "dull normal" myself, I just find it somewhat obscene that a person could behave that way.

If you ahve such a disregard for valuables and the money it takes to acquire them then instead of throwing dollar bills in a trash can try donating some of it to food hampers and medical bill funds.

Just imagine what $40k in quality groceries could do in a local neighbourhood of struggling families or the impact to children who are eating poorly?

I know this is a football forum, but I have always hoped that the players we support with fanaticism would at the very least reciprocate with their effort and intelligence.
daks won walter payton man of the year. he gives back. weird take honestly.

Its a lesson for next time. Everyone has to keep their heads on a swivel nowadays, no matter how nice the neighborhood seems. It's really a shame.

Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow and Luka Dončic's families have also been targeted... I guess they're all idiots as well?

Bad things happen to everyone.
The difference between those guys and Dak is that Dak is not a winner.
