I can't count the amount of times working in the Criminal Justice System, that I told people over and over again. Always lock your vehicle!! Most cases like this are not from breaking windows, but not locking your vehicle. You are never safe.

wow, the levels of humanity on this thread is astounding. the jealousy. the hatred.

this is all just a game. nothing but a game. nothing but entertainment. but when you allow your entertainment cross into real life stuff and show absolute no sympathy because you are mad or jealous or hateful. you have lost yourself in a world, I can't begin to describe.

I feel sorry for her. I feel bad. this is not a Dak support. I am sure many of people here have made similar mistakes in life that cost them, perhaps not as much, but regardless.

Didn't see this posted anywhere. It's an article about Dak's fiance having 40 thousand dollars worth of luxury goods stolen from her car. Who the heck leaves that much valuable stuff in their car??:huh:

DALLAS — According to a Dallas Police Department report obtained and reviewed by WFAA, tens of thousands of dollars worth of items were stolen from Dak Prescott's fiancé Thursday.
The report says Sarah Ramos arrived at a Pilates class Thursday morning, and that she "quickly rushed inside due to the rain." "Due to the haste," the report continues, she "forgot to lock her [vehicle] door."

When she returned and entered her vehicle after the class, the report says, several pieces of property had been taken. At this time, the report says, she "was notified that her credit cards were being used at [another] location."
The report detailed several pieces of property stolen that amounts to close to $40,000 in estimated worth, including designer handbags and wallets from Chanel, YSL, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Prada, as well as computer software and cash. The incident occurred the day after Christmas.
The theft follows a string of burglaries targeting high-profile athletes like Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow and Luka Dončić. Security expert Doug Deaton said thieves targeting these athletes are professional thieves.
"They will often follow [athlete's] family members from stores, from the supermarket, from the mall, follow [the athletes] from the games, follow [them] to and from your work," he explained.
"The biggest thing that I would advise [athletes and their families] to do is to assume they are being observed by professionals because they are."
Dallas Police Department sources confirmed to WFAA Sunday that Dončić's home was broken into Friday through his back master bedroom, that they rummaged through the bedroom and bathroom, then got away with a necklace worth $4,000 dollars, three earrings worth $14,000 and four rings worth $,5,000.
The Dallas Police Department is investigating both cases.
I wouldn't be able to have a high maintenance woman like that no matter how much money I made.

How come there is little detail about suspects or their getaway vehicle in a lot of these bigger hits targeting rich people?

Always seem to be a lot of info missing when its 'pro' thieves hitting big targets. Why report it differently than other crimes that are publicized?

It sounds like an honest mistake. However, unless you have an old school car, it is still possible to lock your car door when you are not near it. Although, that probably would not have deterred them. At the least, it would have made it a lot harder.

A very expensive mistake. It's a shame people have to steal.

Yep it sucks being robbed. I totally agree but I really have no sympathy for people who waste money on thousand dollar purses and the like. I don't think that makes me heartless or uncaring, it just makes me think if you really care so much about things like that to use your money on those things then you really don't value the right things anyway. I mean if you tear down a 15 million dollar mansion to build another one rather than selling and finding another place then that is just nothing I am going to concern myself with if you lose 40k.

A million random senerios can happen where her or your family can find themselves with valuables in a car. That doesn't mean they are dumb.

Im sure If robbers caught you on a good day (Christmas shopping, going to/from a bank, etc.) they would've got something valuable that you don't usually carry around.
She is dumb.

I'm not going to blame the victim.

Yes, she was unaware and did something that was not smart. But this didn't happen because she left a car door unlocked. This happened because a scumbag criminal decided that it was okay to take the property of another person, committing the crime of grand larceny.
A lot of people would find it hard not to take a free 40k.

It took two times for someone going inside my wife's unlocked cars (thefts happened two years apart) and stealing her purse both times before she started locking her vehicle on a regular basis. She felt both mad and bad about it both times.

I will forward this link to her. She will likely laugh her head off at the carelessness that made hers look tiny by comparison.
I have a feeling that your wife would have had a different approach to decision making if she had $40k worth of stuff in the car both times.

I didn't know that not locking your vehicle was an actual option. I don't leave valuables in the car and if I did I would hide them.

I just showed this to a good friend who sells auto and home insurance that covers not only vehicular damage, but stolen and damaged belongings. She said they should be flagged in the system whether they make a claim or not. The term they use for what they call these high risk applicants is "poor decision framing".
