Yes, of course. The only thing wrong with the Cowboys is Dak. Once we get a new QB, we will win every game and never give up another point.
I get it. Dak is the QB so all the blame goes to him, and none of the credit when they win. If they lose 44-19 and the defense gives up 5 TD on 5 straight drives to start the game, it's Dak's fault for not getting the Cowboys 6 TDs on 5 drives.
It's absurd but it is the state of Cowboys fandom.
But look around the league. Pittsburgh is 3-1 with Justin Fields, a backup at QB. Washington is 3-1 with a rookie. Minnesota is 4-0 with Sam Darnold. Tampa is 3-1 with Baker Mayfield.
On the other hand, the Rams are 1-3 with Stafford. Cincinnati is 1-3 with Joe Burrow, and Jacksonville is 0-4 with the great Trevor Lawrence. How can these records be if the QB is the only guy that matters?
The answer is winning takes all 53 guys on the roster, not 1. Of course the QB is important, but no QB can success without a good team and good coaching, and even a good organization, behind him. Likewise, mediocre QBs can succeed if they have good teams to support them.
Dak haters refuse to accept that the Cowboys are not a very good team. They were better last year but GB showed they had huge flaws on offense and defense. Who is our rushing threat this year? We have the worst RB squad in the league I would say. How about our WRs? After CeeDee who is the threat at WR? Basically the Cowboys have CeeDee and Ferguson, and Ferguson is a tough TE but not a threat to break a game open.
On top of that neither of the OTs is a reliable pass blocker and the entire OL struggles to open holes for the running game.
In the meantime, the defense was manhandled by 2 of the 4 teams they have played this year, and 3 of 5 if you count the last game against the Packers, and that is when they have Bland, Amstrong, Sam Williams, Fowler, and Hankins.
I am not saying Dak is a great QB or that he deserved $60 million, but no one player if going to take this team anywhere this year. And the team was overrated last year. It's too bad. They were a couple of players away from getting over the hump from last year, or if you look at the 2022 team they may have been even closer. But Jerry sits on his hands in the offseason and lets the team deteriorate because he won't pay for talent. It is not Dak's fault.
