Honestly, that would be a better deal for him since he is slightly above average. I kid.

Maybe if he had the same caliber offensive line he had his first 3 years in the league and had so time to go through all of his reads things would be different.

LOL, he doesn't have to worry about a team giving the Cowboys high draft picks for him.

If funny, not ha ha funny, that people, that used to be NFL scouts and GM's have said if Prescott would wave his no trade clause the Cowboys would probably get a 1st , 2nd and a later round pick for him. One even say 2 1st round picks. But the Prescott haters don't see that. Now I'm not saying he's the best QB but he's far better than just slightly above average.

Jerry is the only GM who would give a 1st,2nd, and later pick for Dak.. That's just crazy talk.

Roseman didn't get a trophy and now they have 20 free agents and have to pay Hurts.
Lol. Just watch. Most of the good ones are going to be resigned. Gardner Johnson, hargrave, Kelce, prob more. The power of void years. I were ish our “gm” wouLd embrace it.

I think we could get a 1st for him. Acquiring team gets him for 2 years, 30m per. That’s a bargain today.

No, you watch. They will lose at least 3 defensive linemen and some of their starting secondary.

After restructuring lane Johnson and slay they will be 35m under the cap. Resigning Hargrave will add to that total.
Sanders -gone. They don’t value running back, sanders was good, but behind that ol? They will draft someone - I hope it’s not Bijan or Gibbs- that would be scary.

Kelce -back
Hargrave -back
Bradbury -back
Gardner Johnson -back
Tj Johnson -back
Other starting lb, forget his name -gone.
Graham and Cox -maybe back if no one gives them a big deal.

Who am I missing? They can do all that and still add a fa or two.

Note, Slay is not a free agent…some have said that he is.

JJ needs to get his **** together. We could have the best roster in football if we shot for a 5 year window beginning this offseason.

Jerry is so intent on being right that he’s been forcing the issue ever since Jimmy left. He has been desperate to prove that he didn’t need Jimmy to win and wants to prove that he’s a “football guy” even though he’s not. This is imo why he keeps forcing bad contracts and extending players he drafted beyond their utility lifespan. Fact is, he’s just an idiot who’s been more lucky than good his entire life, yet still insecurely trying to prove that he’s actually good and not lucky.

It doesn't take a GM or a scout to figure this out. The Eagles got a 1st and a 3rd for Wentz. Sam Darnold was traded for a 2nd, 4th, and 6th round pick. He wasn't worth the 6th rounder. QB needy teams will give a lot for less than great QBs.

Players were getting open against the 49ers. Dak chose to focus mainly on Lamb and Schultz though. How is adding a couple of players going to make Dak better if he won't read the field? I do agree about the play calling though.
You got it right.
It makes zero difference. Nor does the changing of play callers or 20 to 30 percent scheme change.
None of it matters as long as #4 continues making wrong decisions in real time.
No amount of coaching, scheme or personnel support can overcome that.

Jerry and Stephen are fully invested in Dak. He’s marketable as heck and just won man of the year. He’s gonna be here for another 6 years or so barring a massive nosedive or career threatening injury.
Its almost like the NFL office knows Jerry is an old fool and named Dak man of the year just to keep Dak in Dallas. Jerry loves the press and will NEVER dump Dak now. Pencil in another 7 yrs of NOT winning anything.

It's pretty inevitable that Jerry is going to extend Dak. Between his 2023 cap hit being untenable and being able to cite two playoff births and one win (I know it's not good enough for us but it is for Jerry) since signing the deal, it's going to happen. I don't know much about the contract process but I'm curious if they can nix that no trade clause when they do an extension/restructure, or does it stay in automatically?

I guess it's pretty counterintuitive to think that Jerry would trade Dak when he will almost certainly extend him, but it would be nice if the FO at least had the option, especially if they can somehow luck into a good QB in the draft since it sounds like QB will finally become a priority in the draft again. I do think that the second Jerry has any sort of a health scare that we may see the urgency to win ramp up considerably and he may actually consider trying to upgrade at the QB position, especially if we have another one and done playoff year. Or maybe just wishful thinking on my part.
That no trade clause is the biggest mistake this team has made since drafting rod hill in the 1st round.

Not really seeing as how players can Veto trades by simply not showing up especially high paid QB's... if the agent tells the other team "He aint gonna report to camp" what exactly would the other team do to fix it? You sign the trade take the cap hit and now your screwed as the QB basically forces the trade they want or they force a free agent type scenario. IF Dallas wanted to trade Dak they could, they just cant dump him to siberia because like any QB with leverage he would just refuse it. Hell QB's have basically told teams that drafted them to get bent.

To me Dak and MM are basically tied at the hip this year, it either works or both will be replaceable pieces (one certainly easier than the other), If Dak fails this year (obviously there would be a huge disagreement here on what that would look like) and the FO moved on from MM and told Dak "WE want to move on from you" what benefit would Dak get from refusing to move on? The no trade clause does nothing for his value, it would be like staying with a Partner who tells everyone that dont want you... he would sign off on a trade.

If Dallas could get that I'm all in for trading him.
