Tell me people here who are willing to take less at their job. Meanwhile anyone who believes they would have signed anyone with any saved money are kidding themselves.

Mahomes did not take less. He took by far the largest deal in league history both for AAV and total value. The fact that others passed it doesn’t change that.
Hi Dak’s PR guy !!

Wow, was that an ***-kicking
I lost a ton of respect for Dak...
His selfishness has screwed us (and himself).
Mahomes and Brady did it right...
They took smaller deals and allowed others to be paid properly, and got a better team around them.
Now Dak is even more exposed than ever.

His chance of winning a Superbowl is now even more remote than ever.

Mahomes is what, the 14 or 15th highest paid QB, and yet is the #1 QB in the league.

Dak is the highest paid QB, yet probably the 14 or 15th best QB in the league... and dropping

Go figure.
dak will never win a super bowl unless he is the 2nd or 3rd qb and age does t hit everyone the same. i think he is aging fast

It isn’t Dak’s fault. He’s smart enough to know he isn’t Brady or Mahomes and winning a championship is not his priority. He wants to get as much money as he can, while he can and Jerry & Co. was happy to oblige. How can we blame him?

Here's the false comparison of Joe Average jobs with generational wealth occupations like pro athlete. Two different worlds.

Mahomes took the largest deal in league history and Brady took money under the table, plus had a wife making more than him.
Which is fine because they were actually worth what they got paid, produced results, and elevated players around them.

Dak is a career journeyman. Dak knob slobberers deep down now he’s not worth what they paid him. Him being the highest paid QB ever is criminal.

JJ threw money at a turd hoping it would instantly make it gold.

Daks contract is a real problem for the Cowboys. They are screwed. You will see a steady decline of Dak and the Cowboys. Dak doesn't look good against good teams. If the other team gets a lead Dak turns into a different player.

Blame jerry he let the media get to him again. The “how could you not sign dak” p
Did it again. They did it four years ago…. They goaded Jerry into signing dak… and are the first ppl to rip dak for not playing well. Its laughable.

If your gonna roll with dak you need someone to get the most out of him… and this coaching staff isn’t it

And at a lesser salary.

We will not contend for a super bowl paying Dak 60 mil.

He even said it’s not about the money earlier in the offseason but yet nothing got done until he got the record breaking deal.

There’s been so many red flags with this loser. Telling people to jump off the bandwagon a few weeks ago, always saying how he’s got to do better, etc. The guy is a phony and selfish but throws out the act like he’s team first guy. So many red flags.

Cowboy Nation is screwed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Jones family is raking in the bucks, year after year. Their football team is worth over 10 billion dollars and when it's all said and done, they could give a rats *** if we're mad or upset at JJ for pretty much destroying any chance of their team going to any SB any time soon. The Cowboys are so lousy that maybe 2 players on this team and I may be pushing it, could start for Dan Campbell tomorrow.

Lamb and our kicker, that’s it.

More like Jerry is an idiot.

Dak's agent would be a better GM than Jethro.

I’m guessing reading comprehension is not your strong suit so I will slow it down for you.

The OP cites Dak going for a record deal as selfish, hence the title of the thread. Mahomes and are cited as “doing it right”. Therefore the fact that the central example provided is untrue directly on topic. How Dak played today is actually not.

Hopefully this helps improve your reading comprehension in the future.
Genius they were not selfish. 10 year deal to allow cap hits to be spread out vs 4 year "my way or the highway" deal shows who was/is selfish.

And this team (or any other) will never win a championship with Prescort as it's starting quarterback. Comprehend that.

Mean while after 5 games Mountain Mahomes has 6 TD's and 6 Int's to Prescott's 8 TD's and 6 Int's.

Points allowed after 5 games.

KC 85 or 17 per game.
Dallas 168 or 33.6 per game.

Damn near double the points. Dak has to get better on defense.

I have never seen a quarterback age this fast. He definitely lost a step after he broke his ankle and then he has declined ever since. Bad genetics? Does he have bad habits we don't know about? We know his best friend does, Elliot. Most quarterbacks don't start to decline like this until their late 30s. What is he, 30? Unbelievable.

How much more do you expect to get out of him? He can't see the field, he buckles under pressure, he has no pocket awareness, he can't scramble very well anymore, and throws passes everywhere except between his receiver's numbers. There's not much to get out of him. Over half of his passes are 5 yards or less. At least it seems that way.

I think your point is valid.

Every QB can only take so many hits. Some can play into their 40's some are done around 30. Matt Schaub was a good Qb who was done around 31. Culpepper around 33 or so.
