Tell me people here who are willing to take less at their job. Meanwhile anyone who believes they would have signed anyone with any saved money are kidding themselves.

Mahomes did not take less. He took by far the largest deal in league history both for AAV and total value. The fact that others passed it doesn’t change that.
Less than what? Dak was not asked to take "less at his job". But it was hoped he'd take less than 60 freaking million a year, not less than he was already receiving which was already 40 freaking million.

Yes, but to demand to be highest paid, and play like a chump. ***?!
He certainly doesn't deserve it, and his greed had screwed the team's ability to pay quality players.
So Dak will be worse than he ever was.
And now has zero chance of winning a Superbowl.
Damn, this is really important to you...

How do you know? Maybe Dak wanted $80M a year and took less at $60M.

If your boss is an idiot, are you going to tell him you are paying me too much???

If it's causing the business to go under and I might lose my job, it's possible.

The most profitable franchise is going under? If you say so.

If/when the Cowboys are going under the NFL is finished.
I said the season is done. I didn't mention profit. Go read it again, slowly this time. Nowhere in there did I say anything about money.

I suspect he could've asked for twice that and some would still have defended it.

Pretty sure every knows what it means if you are considering taken a pay cut to keep a business from going under.

If the business is healthy and you are taking a pay cut to to try and save your job, then you just suck at your job.

And at a lesser salary.

We will not contend for a super bowl paying Dak 60 mil.
Exactly... the $15-20Millipn/year that he was OVERPAID, could have paid for more talent at need positions that we now don't have and is obvious in games like today's.

Wow, was that an ***-kicking
I lost a ton of respect for Dak...
His selfishness has screwed us (and himself).
Mahomes and Brady did it right...
They took smaller deals and allowed others to be paid properly, and got a better team around them.
Now Dak is even more exposed than ever.

His chance of winning a Superbowl is now even more remote than ever.

Mahomes is what, the 14 or 15th highest paid QB, and yet is the #1 QB in the league.

Dak is the highest paid QB, yet probably the 14 or 15th best QB in the league... and dropping

Go figure.
Don’t blame Dak for wanting the money. Blame the Jones Boys for giving it to him

I think your point is valid.

Every QB can only take so many hits. Some can play into their 40's some are done around 30. Matt Schaub was a good Qb who was done around 31. Culpepper around 33 or so.
Romo took a beating and played into his late 30s. I'm not sure how good Culpeper and Schaub actually were. It probably had more to do with their Supporting Cast than their age.

I have an idea......It is a bit unorthodox.

Maybe we just get a good OLine and consider running the ball for maybe something north of 4 yards a carry.

If you think Dak’s contract, the type of contract that will be repeated over and over with other QB’s, is what is wrong with this team, I don’t know what to say other than I disagree.

His deal didn’t prevent the team from making other deals.

If you want to blame Dak just to blame him, fine, but he’s a symptom, not the disease.
