I don't understand the obsession with his contract this team doesn't spend money in free agency what would him taking a discount get us.
If Dak doesn't demand $60m/year, we have the money to resign any combination of Hankins, Fowler, Armstrong, Gilmore, Smith, and Pollard. They aren't big name players, but the played important roles on this team. Roles that clearly haven't been filled, and we're seeing the result on the field.

Wow, was that an ***-kicking
I lost a ton of respect for Dak...
His selfishness has screwed us (and himself).
Mahomes and Brady did it right...
They took smaller deals and allowed others to be paid properly, and got a better team around them.
Now Dak is even more exposed than ever.

His chance of winning a Superbowl is now even more remote than ever.

Mahomes is what, the 14 or 15th highest paid QB, and yet is the #1 QB in the league.

Dak is the highest paid QB, yet probably the 14 or 15th best QB in the league... and dropping

Go figure.
Before I would call Dak selfish I would say the problem is Yoda's stupidity to even offer those contracts.

Alot of people talk big but I don't see anyone taking any paycuts so their coworkers get more? Easy to criticize Dak for something you would never do.
Well eventually whenever you leave Burger King you might see that. Jk. Sorry. I've seen it before.

Brady did it. Mahomes did it. I remember during parcel's first year we signed offensive guard Ron Rivera to a big contract, he blew out his back, and then offered to give Jerry all of his money back. You think Dak would ever do something like that? Hell no. He would try to fleece him for even more.

Would he have taken 50 million if it meant we could add a few more pieces around him to win a Super bowl? I doubt it. He's got this entire organization held hostage now. I would have taken a Team friendly deal because one I want to win and two I don't want all the pressure of being the highest paid QB in the league when I'm not even in the top 10 as far as Talent goes. So now we're stuck paying an average Quarterback 60 million a year and can't add anything around him.

I'm pretty sure our defense was getting destroyed with those guys on the field last season whenever we played a decent football team so I don't see how they could help us.

Yeah, because in the real world where people don’t work for a monopoly that makes a gazillion dollars a year most people are forced to take pay-cuts because they can’t afford no income while trying to find another job.

Not fair to blame Dak... Most people in CZ knew he wasn't an elite QB to get the contact extension he got but Jerry thought otherwise. If we are going to point fingers let's start with the people making these decisions.
Here’s the difference. You can do something about Presscott - as costly as that might be, it’s within your control. No one apart from God Almighty can do anything about Jerry & Stephen Jones.

Isn’t it really selfishness from the owner who refuses to delegate and give power to the head coach? Jerry is in effect our head coach, GM, and owner.

Dak has not been good but this whole season is Jerry’s mess and has his fingerprints all over it. There’s a lot of blame Prescott deserves, but the majority of the blame belongs to our extremely selfish owner/gm who refuses to make fundamental changes where it really matters. You can’t have a GM that’s too busy brokering deals to bring NASCAR to Arlington when you’re in the middle of the season and the GM job is to constantly turn the roster to make it better.

Our selfish owner is too selfish to hire a GM. Our selfish owner is too selfish to stay away from constant radio interviews. Our selfish owner is giving the cowboy fans the finger while micromanaging every facet of the team. Our selfish owner refuses to be accountable to anyone. Jerry is the selfish one.

Dak is terrible at his job, and because he was looking out for his brothers, he used the leverage he had over Jerry to handcuff this team for another 5 years minimum. As I say that, Jerry could have gotten out of this mess in a couple of years if he just let him walk, as Dak said he would be okay with. I tried to warn the homers out there that this would be the end game for the franchise, and guess what? It is only going to get worse, there is no vision or plan for the future

Mahomes took the largest deal in league history and Brady took money under the table, plus had a wife making more than him.
Stop making excuses this team is trash has been for years and will continue to be trash

What’s funny about this is many assume if Dak took less the ownership would do more ?:lmao2::lmao:

The problem isn’t Dak - the problem is the people who sign his check

Jerry Jones loves it when parts of this fanbase still acts like him and his son would have become the biggest spenders in the NFL during free agency, If only Dak had either taken less or went to another team.

Yes and those facts were true pre Dak as well. Using your own logic the deal was insignificant to how good the team is.

Come on guys don't buy Jerry's bull. We have $25M in cap space THIS SEASON, usused! We could have plenty of upgrades.

Also - the Lions seemed to do just fine building a great team around Goff who is has a $53M AAV contract.

Nah, the defense did enough to win 12 games last year. Fell apart in the end, but so did the offense. What we're looking at now is a whole different level of suck.
