Dak's Total QBR: 7th-best in NFL this week

Defense got 2 TDs and pitched a shutout...they won the game.

Defense had 1, so did special teams. 3 running TDs. All the yards in-between count. They all count. Team win.

Dumb thread intended entirely to stir the pot.

Dak managed the offense well. Didn't make any big mistakes and didn't do anything spectacular.

Certainly not the game to use to prop him up, or cut him down. He did good.

Fair assessment. Which is nice considering the weather doesn't help throwing and catching. Dallas protected the ball very well. I remember games under JG that the team seemed unprepared for the conditions.
But the whole team at least did well. The O line surprisingly well. WRs did great and the defense was just insane!

Daniel Jones played in the same weather against a WAY better defense and had roughly same numbers, including completion percentage, or better than the Messiah.

The only thing more idiotic than starting a thread like this is actually feeling the need to defend it.

Like I said, I wasn't going to bring up our quarterbacks shoddy stats, because I’ve been in a state of grace lately , but when huckleberry decided to make his case, I had to hit the softball out da park.

Better to close your mouth and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

Jones passed for 3.7 yards per attempt and threw two interceptions. And led zero scoring drives.
Dak passed for 6.0 yards per attempt and threw no interceptions. And led five scoring drives.
In no universe are those numbers "roughly the same."

And that's without even mentioning the egregious drops of perfect passes by the tight ends (I'm guessing you didn't actually watch the game).

You also apparently don't understand that the team that's ahead 26-0 and 33-0 and 40-0 plays offense differently from the team that's down by those scores.

I know but you're weakening my argument, and besides Juanyeh/Iggy are defense..plus Fantasy counts it as Defense.

I couldn't give two craps about Fantasy Football. It is the biggest factor to the dumbing down of football fans everywhere.

I found it hilarious when I noted Dak's line did not include any score credit, and the Ultra Dak Crusaders went ape poo about it.

One guy even said "false". There's nothing false about it...there was also nothing nefarious said or meant. Just stated a true fact. UDCers deny facts.

Scoring 40 points, without a QB score credit...is....odd. I never criticized Dak for it...just put it out as a fact. And oh boy...tears filled the river banks!

I then had to state the obvious....very nice game management by Dak in sloppy conditions in enemy territory. and I will take that stat line over the 9ers game any day.

I feel bad for Dak about the drops....we've always needed our TE's to be good secure receivers. I think any team needs that. Doesn't change any facts.

No preseason play, in the rain, sloppy field and on the road in NY, on opening day and on the eve of 9-11, he did exactly what was needed. No turnovers. He drove the bus home. Nothing wrong with that. Stats don't tell the whole story.

The offense "only" scored the 7th most points in week 1. And had Fergie held on to the TD pass HE CLEARLY DROPPED, the Cowboys Offense would have put up T-3rd most points in the league in week 1 (of if they missed the XP, 4th most).

Just so happened that ST and Defenses scored their TDs before the Offense scored theirs.

To cry about the offense and what it did in Week 1 is just plain stupid. It wasn't "OMG INCREDIBLE", but 27 points and 0 turnovers will will a lot in the NFL, even if your D doesn't pitch a shutout.

Those stats would look very average on most teams, but Dak did a magnificent job of actually fulfilling his role as not just a decent bus driver but a pretty good one.
Thats all Dak has to do this season is just understand his role, some discipline.
If he can drive the bus like that in bad weather, just think how he can drive the bus on a sunny day.
This defense is good enough to carry and support a bus driver, I think Dak might understand this now.

Um...I think you misunderstood my comment.

1st off...have to ask you why you think I am "anti dak"? What have I said that gives you that impression?

2nd off...I was actually in agreement with you...."eye test"...I mean... that is how we enjoy the game and process it. It is VERY important. or else shut off the TV and just read the game recap in the morning?

I like using both stats and "eye test". Both can lie and both can help tell the truth. Just have to use some discernment and levity.

I'm really very curious how you came to see me being the "anti dak crowd". Please be specific....school me. Now is your chance to shine.
