I don't think it's bigger than Washington vs. Dallas, although I truly hate the Eagles more than the Skins. When they cheered after Irvin was obviously seriously hurt, I'll never forget that.

Well I was born in 1987. And as an 80's baby I can tell you that I hate the Eagles ,ore than I hate the Commanders. I do hate The Commanders but my hate for the Eagles is twofold of my hatred of our other rivals in the NFC East. I was'nt alive in the 80's when the Commanders were good but i was alive when the eagles fans cheered Mike Irvin, threw snowballs at our team, Buddy Ryan put a bounty on Aikman, The pickle juice game, the years of us getting dominated by those arrogant blowhards from fillie, our re-emergence last year and i enjoyed both of our wins thoroughly. Not saying I don't hate Santana Moss and the Commanders but I have more hate for the Eagles my rivalry scale goes 1.Eagles 2. Commanders 3. Giants 4. 49ers 5. Steelers 6.Raiders

YN1SCOTT ...You've said a Lot of good stuff here, but it's scattered throughout your post. That said, I'll try to pull together the components that are adhesive to what I was trying to say; that's not to say that I'm ignoring the points you're making otherwise.

There's a certain amount of logic in what you're saying. Now I'm uncertain if you are actually from Philly or just lived there. But growing up in Philly you would have "undoubtedly" encountered countless confrontations that usually end in some sort of physical combat (fights). Once you fought someone, you had to fight them several times. Regardless of the winner (usually that would go back and forth), the end result was usually (not always) mutual respect, and even friendship. That "friendship" should not be misconstrued as spending time together or sharing inner thoughts as would be done with the traditional interpretation of "friendship."

That said, I agree with your concept that many Eagle fans (I could no more account for all Eagle fans no more than you or anyone else here could) "hate" the Cowboys in a way that doesn't translate into the (traditional) meaning of the word.



That took cojones! Believe it or not, I stick up for the Cowboys from time to time on other sites. How could you not have respect for a Team that has accomplished so many championships against some punishing NFL teams ...5 times! That's why I say ...I don't hate the Cowboys ...but ther's no love lost along those same lines. My team will ALWAYS be the Eagles -- win or lose!

It's a hot rivalry now because the Eagles have dominated the Cowboys the last couple of years,, maybe the first half of this decade, but over the years, I'd have to say the Boys vs the Skins has had the most attention. The skins are back, the Jints are back, the 'Boys are back, and the Eagles are on the way down. No rivalry there.

ea-girls fans think dal/phi is the biggest rivalry, b/c they hate us through and through.

what they fail to understand is that, rivalries have to be 2-way. and cowboy fans (as a whole) don't even care about philly. they've been nothing more than a speed bump in our path to our titles, so why would we?

dallas/washington.....that is the true rivalry for both sides.


and as someone who has been to both.....dallas/washington games are also WAYYYYYYYYY more fun to be at.
