I said the division is at an all time worst. So the fact that they accumulated more than half of their wins in this God awful division makes 7-5 not mean much.

Well, yeah. That would be the most likely reason we don't advance. But the playoffs can be weird at times. Especially in this parity driven league.

The Sixers probably won't make the playoffs. The Cowboys stand a pretty good chance at making the postseason. Therefore, Dallas has a chance by definition to win the Super Bowl. A slim chance perhaps, but it's still a chance.

It's ok to make non- absolute statements.

The win total is meaningless when evaluating the defense. Yards allowed would be a good way to judge it. As would points.

This team is also setting records for how historically awful this defense is.

Well, yards is not the best way to evaluate the defense although I don't dismiss it at all. There is likely to be some sort of calculation read rating of some kind that incorporates adjusted yards, RZ%, SC%, turnovers, average start etc to determine expected wins. I see predicted wins but I've never looked into how they determine that.
