Here is the perfect scenario (and this is what is needed)
* EVERYONE needs to be healthy and firing on all cylinders, especially the defense
* The defense MUST apply pressure with the 4 down linemen - if they can apply pressure and make the opposing QB make mistakes and/or change the game plan from the OC, then they are doing their job well
* applying more pressure to the QB means mistakes and also means that our secondary will "look" better...there won't be as many perfect passes and that should result in more turnovers (where we are 2nd in the league currently) or at least more errant throws that go incomplete
* more pressure means that the QB has to react more quickly and not have as many opportunities to make quick reads...
* that extra second of pressure and the DBs covering means that Ware and company get to the QB for more sacks
* forcing more punts by the opposition means that our offense has the ball longer
* having the ball longer means that the defense is on the field less and is fresher
* a fresher defense is able to wreak more havoc on an opposing offense (i.e.: apply more pressure)
* a healthy defense MUST apply more pressure

I honestly think it's will take more than one miracle for them to do it.
The odds are certainly stacked against them.

The one thing that can always keep them in the hunt with their defense is their ability to get turnovers.

That can be a great equalizer.
Unfortunately, the defense is so bad that even the turnovers aren't balancing out the yards and points given up.

Like you said- hopefully getting healthier will make a difference.

Houston Texans losing to the Jaguars Thursday night , dropping them to 2-11 means they are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, Thus Giving the Houston Texans absolutely no chance. whereas the cowboys still in contention for a playoff spot , have A chance .. Now past play , stats etc as well as injuries , lack of talent and team execution might prevent anyone so "REALISTIC" (sarcasm) as yourself to even fathom a remote possibility as that happening .. But the FACT remains that they have a chance
