I know he's a pot head and won't be able to play the first 4 games of the season but don't write off Gregory. Especially if he gets a nice offseason in the weight room.
The guys that McClay finds are just sitting around waiting for an offer to prove themselves. They want to perform because they need a job and are looking for one last chance to make it in the NFL. You might only get the best from them for 1 year but, they serve as bridges to the next draft choice you hope plays into the future.
Oh, by the way, it hasn't been just one... What about Laurent Robinson too!
I guarantee that we will field a complete team come the 1st game of the season.
If Romo plays 16 we'll do pretty well, if not we'll suck and draft in the top 5 again next year.
George Selvie is still a free agent. Get the band back together.
Bring Hardy back, draft another interior lineman and this line looks a whole lot better. And for all the they are mot bringing Hardy back crowd, until he is signed with someone else the possibility is still there
And their best may not be good enough. Oftentimes, it takes ability more than desire. A player can want something very badly and not be capable of achieving it. There are 31 other teams and front offices and scouts pouring over the exact same remaining talent pool that the Cowboys are. To assume that Dallas will simply succeed where they fail is little more than fandom.
How many sacks do Laurent Robinson have? Let's not take this conversation somewhere it doesn't need to go and focus on the issue at hand.
And I'm sure that team will have someone lining up at left defensive end too.
Or he could play for half of the season and we'll end up picking in the 20's. People too often only see absolutes.
It makes more sense by the day. I'd feel a whole lot better about a line of Hardy-Crawford-Thornton-Lawrence than I do about what we have today. It would be unfortunate to see the team finally improve at 1-technique only to great markedly worse at defensive end. Fix one hole while opening up another.

This draft is loaded with interior pass rushers and is light on edge rushers. Unfortunately for us, we decided to address the interior in free agency and left the edge a liability. Go figure.
Bottom line. Marinelli had 8-10 guys to rush the passer last year and he will have 8-10 guys to rush the passer this year.
Will the defense be any good. Who can tell at this point. They weren't supposed to be any good in 2014 or 2015 but,
they did pretty well. I put the failure of the 2015 season on injuries to the offense, Garrett and his coaches.
They are one pass rusher away from having a decent starting pass rush with no depth. I dont see the problem.

If the Cowboys had any interest at all, he would already be in the building. They don't and that ship sailed
last year.
Look around the rest of the league...
Which teams have such amazing front lines?
The Carolina Panthers and Seahawks have really nice defenses yet look at who is playing on their defensive lines...I guarantee you have never even heard of most of the guys.
It's a passing league and Offensive line play have evolved to where you are no longer going to line up and just beat people at the LOS. System needs to generate pressure with waves of confusion and keep the offensive guessing where the rush is coming from.
It's a chess match more than ever...lets hope we aren't still playing checkers.

If he makes it through the summer without failing another test I will be shocked. This is a guy who lost millions getting busted at the *combine*, and was so fazed by that he managed to fail two more tests in his rookie year.
If he even gets on the field this year its a bonus, much less counting on him to do anything.
