Interesting stat...

The 1992 Champion Cowboys were 12th in sacks.

The 1993 Champion Cowboys were 19th in sacks.

The 1995 Champion Cowboys were 14th in sacks.

Sacks are not an be-all, end-all.

What those defenses had over the current defense is far better secondary play.

Can you give us the sack rankings for our defense over the past 3 years for comparison?

True enough...Of course, Our secondary is not all that right now either. We've got a lot of work to do to have a SB team...

I'm tired of Marinelli having to "make something out of nothing." That was necessary his first year here because our D-line totally got depleted with the departure of Ware and Hatcher. But going into year 3, we should have enough talent on this D-line by now to be more than just average. Average was a victory when we had the least talented D-line in the league. It shouldn't be any more. We haven't improved much from a talent standpoint since Marinelli arrived.

It's because we put all our eggs on headcases like Hardy and Gregory.

Despite what folks think of Greg Hardy, he has left a gigantic hole in their defensive front. A hole that is not likely to be filled by a capable body, at least, not this offseason.....

In fact, there hasn't been a rookie since 2011 to produce double-digit sacks.....

Why is double-digit sacks the measuring stick when Hardy didn't even get double-digit sacks? Been a handful of guys since 2012 who have had 6 sacks as a rookie.

I don't know, Denver showed everybody in the SuperBowl that if you can put the QB on his arse within 2-3 seconds of the snap, the routes the WRs run don't really matter that much anymore.

Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware have rings to prove it.

And they still have a real good secondary, TJ Ward and Aqib Talib have rings to prove it.

Very valid point.

There should be at least one person here that reads it... won't "get-it" but should read it.

They'll just cite the Broncos, whom have a very good secondary in their own right. How many times did pick plays absolutely kill this defense last season? And people think a pass rush is going to get there in 1.5 seconds to stop it?

Puh-leeze.
